Good Morning all. A promising day ahead as far as the weather is concerned. Once the mist has lifted it should be a warm and sunny day getting better towards the weekend. @AnniD. Have you had any signs of night life yet? Maybe the food Mouse took to Mr H wasn't up to his standards and he has been sent elsewhere. If I go to the allotment and there are no birds around I can guarantee there will be a cat hiding somewhere so once they see me they disappear and the birds come back. It's so hard to resist buying more plants but as you say "I don't need any more" and I would add "yet" on the end. I just would not have anywhere to put any more Clematis. Waiting for one to grow so I can train it up the tree and another which is not yet mature enough to plant out. That one is going just outside to hopefully climb the side of the shed. Do have one which was from last year which did very well and the honeysuckle has started growing again. @nultyphilip224. Got to view your video. Such beautiful blooms. Are they in flower now or are they a selection of previous ones. Your heucheras look lovely in the sun. Seems to be the one plant that grows well on the allotment. Haven't counted how many I have yet! Foxy Molly is well trained not to walk in amongst the plants. I know if I took Buddy to the allotment he would demolish everything in minutes. Like a bull in a china shop. So clumsy. I only have to cross the road to the allotment! Wouldn't have considered it if it had been a walk away. They are so private that once you are inside you are on your own and can lock the door on leaving. Also a padlock on the main gate. Having a plot wouldn't have suited me as you would probably have been expected to grow veg rather than have it as a garden and no privacy. Mine is like having a garden but not quite attached to the house. That stone you found is very interesting. Looks like the head of someone who lived hundreds of years ago. Bet it was heavy to carry home. You would probably pay a lot of money for that in a store. @Valley Gardener. Here's hoping you are gradually getting better. It will take some time before you get your energy back. Maybe this warm weather we have been promised will help you and OH.
Have a good day all and enjoy the gardening weather.
Morning everyone Have come in for a tea break and got sidetracked again ! Sun is just trying to break through at 11 o'clock, it was quite misty earlier. So shattered last night we forgot to put the camera out, but no sign of hedgehog poo. I plan to put the feeding station out tonight with some cat biscuits just in case, as l'm sure Hedgehog has a sixth sense when it comes to more Spring like weather. @nultyphilip224 that stone is pretty impressive, did you have somewhere in mind to put it when you saw it, or are you like me with the clematis, get it first and worry about where to put it later ? Foxy Molly is a good girl, l don't think my Sherry would have been so well behaved! @Fran IOM your allotment sounds like The Secret Garden ! Looks like the forecast (at least for the first part of the Easter weekend) is pretty good , let's hope it's accurate! @purplerallim@Valley Gardener , hope you are okay and that VG is getting there healthwise.
Good Morning Folks,..i was up very early this morning and out and about with Foxy Molly,..our first visit to the land along the river nearest home seeing the river level has dropped.
@Fran IOM,..so your weather looks promising,..when the mist lifts,..fingers crossed for you and you can head over to your ''Secret Garden'',..which it really is.
Thank's for viewing the video though the amount of blooms were scarce enough seeing the images cover from start of Spring to the present day,..i date each days images and place them in a monthly folder in the computer,..so easy to find what was in bloom on the same day going back to 2004,..though i do have to store the images on CD as there are so many.
Heuchera's are growing well in your garden,..that's good news,..they are very attractive,..looking at some of mine this morning to check on the seed pods and they are starting to turn brown,..i have a container at the ready to sow the seeds as i am very interested in seeing what will appear from them,..as they bloom when the bee and butterfly are not around to cross pollinate i suppose i shouldn't expect something totally different from the parent plant,..one can live in hope,..oh some of mine are already pushing themselves out of the soil.
That stone was only noticed since the river dropped i suppose the soil washed off it,..i hid it and came back later with the car,..it was too heavy to carry home in comfort.
@AnniD,..a misty morning for you as well,..i hope it clears and you have a nice day,..so no camera out therefore no news of Hedgehog or Mouse plus no Hedgehog poo,..i would be more worried about Mouse as it can not defend itself,..they are a pair of odd characters i must say,..my Hedgehogs were not around last night,..food was untouched,..visitors to my garden are warned not to step in that,..what is it they ask?,..ah that's something a gardener is very lucky to have,..if you have that stuff then your lucky to also have a Hedgehog
About that stone,..i got it,..then on bringing it home am still trying to figure where to place it,..i didn't have a plan lol,..just thought to myself,..i must have that.
Cold at eight in the morning down by the river and canal,..the road is white from the lime in the river,..that is tarmacadam under that lime,..bicycle tracks on the lime.
Haven't really woken up yet,..just resting my eyes.
Lovely photos of the sky reflecting in the river @nultyphilip224. I know how Foxy Molly feels ! I have just washed nearly 70 pots (mine and MIL's), and sorted out the plants for the charity shop. I thought there would only be about one box full, but it may be about three. It was like an episode of "Silent Witness" with me examining the pots with forensic skill. I only found one pot that had been attacked, so that has now been disposed of. The nematodes will be deployed on the others just in case. OH has just made me a cup of tea and a buttered hot cross bun. I know it's a day early but l wasn't going to refuse ! (And we still have some for tomorrow).
Good afternoon all. So many lovely photo's @nultyphilip224, but the stone is very intriguing. At first I thought it was a strange shape with some holes, but as I looked at it, i can see a face with an open mouth. It looks like a very ancient carving. I think it would look good anywhere in the garden.
@Fran IOM I did only buy compost, honest, but....today, two boxes arrived from SGC with a total of ten plants. I got several campanula, a heuchera, and helenium short arsed and gobby. They sent me another helenium too but I don't remember ordering it. Your allotment sounds perfect. What a good buy. When I was reading the allotment thread there was a link to an article where a woman was murdered by another allotment member. It made me think that committees, rules and regulations etc might be quite a drawback at times for those who rent. Did your plants arrive?
@AnniD, well done for getting three trays of plants ready for charity. All the work you have done recently must feel good, if a little achey. You both deserved the hot cross buns and I hope you enjoyed them. Fingers crossed for hedgehog and his little friend the mouse returning. Wildlife watching really is a worry at times.
@Valley Gardener thinking of you and wishing you a speedy recovery.

70 pots,..that's no mean feat ''Amelia'' as just washing even one means turning upside down,..then washing inside before rotation all around,..well done,..and only one pot had been attacked,..i must check my big supply of pots,..empty ones of course which came from different gardeners,..though as i mentioned i never came across any of those Vine Weevil creatures.
Hope you enjoyed your Hot Cross Bun,..very tasty,..i know because i was almost past the shelf where they were in ALDI about two days ago,..grabbed a pack of six,..all gone now,..love the taste.
@Purplerain,..i like that stone,..the more i look at it i can see two faces,..if you look near the top where there is some moss stuck in a hole and imagine that is an eye,..then the nose is under that quite close,..the hole at the side is a dimple,..then a long way down is the open mouth,..looks like an Easter Island face.
The second face,..that dimple is one eye,..what was the nose is the second eye,..then there is just a faint nose before the mouth,..lol this reminds me of looking at clouds.
I like your Tulips,..lovely big bloom and nice colour,..its always hard to decide do you take a side shot or one looking into the bloom,..what are they on the left Daffs of some kind?
So more plants arrived,..where on earth are you putting them all lol.

Sun lighting up the Heuchera.
Strange colours on a new Heuchera growing in the soil and not in a pot.
Crinodendron hookerianum 'Chilean lantern Tree',..now at over 2 Metres high and new Lanterns starting.
