@Valley Gardener,..i must post an image of two stones i found,..one looks like Brain Coral,..the other was a complete surprise,..hopefully tomorrow.
So you are still fighting the Bug,..we are all thinking of you,..wishing you well and know you may be looking in but not in the mood to do big posts if any at all,..however you do and we all appreciate that,..even if we know you frown on wearing slippers in the garden lol.
I will look forward to seeing how your Hand Rail turns out,..i never would have imagined new growth appearing.
I took away the Hellebore plants and they are now stored at the bottom of the garden until next Spring,..i collected the seed pods and have sown the seeds,..it will be a long wait before there is a sign of growth,..18 Months approx.
Good morning (or should that be "meep meep" in a Road Runner style @nultyphilip224 ?) That photo of Foxy Molly really made me smile, what a grin ! The ducklings are so cute. Still not a brilliant forecast for today, dry to start and then heavy rain showers again and distinctly cooler. Need to sort out my bargains this morning. @Fran IOM, l tend to just ignore the purple "new" notifications if l'm not interested - it would be good if you could have a favourites section that you could transfer threads into and edit as you wished. As for putting a link into a thread, l highlight the address in the tab, click control and "c" button at the same time. It then gets copied to clipboard on my tablet. I then go to where l want to post it and click control and "v" button at the same time, and it appears. Hope this makes sense and was what you meant, my knowledge of this sort of thing is up there with my knowledge of brain surgery 🙄 Fish pie was lovely by the way Hope all have a good day and @Valley Gardener takes my medical advice if necessary 😉
Hi Guys,I've got an apt at 10.40. Awake all night coughing, and ears still "underwater"
Faries must live in your garden @nultyphilip224, all that lushness, and rocks! This is what I sorely missed when I lived in Spain, greenery, mosses and Ferns.
I will look to see if I have Hellebore seed pods, the last time I looked, they were still flowering.
Yes I'm following what everyone is up to,can't wait to see Frans allotment when it's all to her satisfaction!
How is the wildlife Anni??
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.
@nultyphilip224 . Just had a quick flip back to look for the ducklings, oh my goodness What some beautiful pics! It certainly captured your walk with Foxy Molly, what a lovely area.....we are opposites!!

Good morning all. Sun is shining again today but forecast is to be a lot cooler but as long as it doesn't rain I don't mind. It was in the seventies in the sun yesterday according to my thermometer. @nultyphilip224 Such beautiful photos as always. Love seeing the swans and ducks. I can see that Foxy Molly has learnt the trick of getting across the bridge. That Creeping Jenny is a lovely flower. My Neem oil was quite lumpy when I opened it but once it had been diluted and shaken it was fine. Bet you were glad to get it after a week. You must have patience to wait 18 months for any sign of life from your Hellebore seeds. Had to laugh at your comments on the threads! I have seen so many threads where someone has really gone out of their way to give information and the original poster never gets back to thank them. Also the posting of insignificant information on posts. Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Buddy usually has his meals at 9am and 9pm. Now he has decided that he will let me know when it's time for his evening meal and pushes his head under my arm whilst I am on the laptop and lets it drop and won't give up. He was six yesterday. @AnniD No doubt you are busy sorting out your bargains. I think they must see you coming. Oh dear I tried out the instructions you gave to transfer a link but no luck. Maybe I didn't express myself clearly. What I was trying to do was place the link on my email from SGC with the code into the SGC thread. Must be simple but can't get my head around it. Think I need to go to night school to learn more about computing. Maybe my order will arrive today. With a bit of luck I should be able to get everything planted out. Have made a list of all the little things I need to do at the allotment so mustn't forget to take the list with me. Looking forward to seeing my new Hosta. They may not be mature enough to plant out straightaway. @Valley Gardener You will be getting ready to go to the doctors. Do hope you have some better medication this time. I had to laugh when you stated you couldn't wait to see the allotment! I think people may think I am fantasying and don't really do any gardening at all. Honestly I do have an allotment! Hope it won't be long before you are up and running again. @Purplerain Hope all is well with you. Maybe you have posted whilst I have been taking my time and it will appear when I have finished.
@Fran IOM no I wasn't posting as I have been faffing around since 6.30 doing nothing. I have been out in the garden but can't decide what to do. Should I weed another big border or start planting up baskets, pot on stuff or come on here and read posts? I know we are in for a cold snap so everything that needs protection will have to come in tonight, but where to put it all?? Dilemmas dilemmas. I think Buddy has been taking lessons from my Charlie. They know how to tell us what they want, and can be very persistent about it.
@nultyphilip224 it is good to see the meadow properly again and Foxy Molly is making the most of it. Do ducks always have 8 ducklings do you think? When I was walking this week one of the ducks was herding her brood of 8 ducklings. They are so cute just now, following Mum with their little paddling feet. I've never felt inclined to eat duck eggs, but hen eggs are fine. Strange logic really. So you have put the hellibores away. Do you cut the flower stems down once you have sown the seeds? I know what you mean about some threads. Such is the nature of forums I suppose.
@Valley Gardener please let us all know how you got on at your appointment. It's been going on too long now and the Doctor needs to get to the bottom of it.
@AnniD you got a lot of bargains yesterday and I hope you find room for them "somewhere". I was very impressed with Beechgrove and commented on it last night. Let me know what you thought after you have seen it. Still no mouse? I really hope an owl hasn't carried him off. Philip is right in that we often think of predatory cats but not owls. That might be another character for the book, if he is a kind owl. I am getting silly now, so the sun is shining and I am off back to the garden. Have a great day all.
Upper Respiritory infection, more medication, but he said it could be three more weeks before I regain my balance, but got tabs for that.
Hubby called into Lidls on the way back, and I doddered across to the plants, and got a lovely little Ceanothis, for 3.49. In the garden centre, they were £14.99. Ok a bit bigger but they grow quickly.........! Just need to get out and plant it against next doors ugly wall!
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.
@Fran IOM sorry l didn't realise that's what you meant ! The daft thing is, l went back to the Secret garden thread as it rang a bell, and l had posted a link to a code, but l can't for the life of me remember how l did it 🙄. If it comes back to me l will let you know. @Valley Gardener hopefully the new drugs will do the trick - you must be rattling having taken so many. Ceanothus was a bargain, l know the feeling Wildlife report is 2 hedgehogs at different times making several visits. I could get away without washing the dish, it's so clean! @Purplerain l have just watched Beechgrove and really enjoyed it. The time went so fast , l must confess l fast forwarded through the harvesting nettles bit, but that was all. I like the new presenter (Rosa ?) and she seemed to fit in very well with the rest of the team. I also liked the drone shots of the garden, it gave me a better idea of the layout. It's just the sheer practicality of it l like ! PS The owl will be kind, you're not silly at all ! @nultyphilip224 have sent you a PM
Hello @nultyphilip224 and everyone! I don't post much on this thread but always read it - very entertained by the antics of Foxy Molly, hedgehogs, mice, cats etc. And loads of helpful gardening hints! My rose cuttings, taken around the turn of the year, are looking healthy with some buds bursting, so I'm hopeful some of them will be producing roots. I'd like to take them with me to our new garden, in County Clare - not that far from @nultyphilip224 I suspect. Purchase isn't finalised yet but we are quite excited at the prospect of a new challenge, a new (bigger!) garden, and being close to 2 of our 3 grandchildren.
@AnniD - did you know that if you click on the green star to the right of the title of the thread you're interested in, it will be listed under "My Bookmarks" in the green boxes on the right hand side? As far as I know you can't edit a thread, though you can remove it from "bookmarks" if you want to, by clicking on the star again. I've found it very useful, so I can just follow certain threads if I'm in a hurry.
@Valley Gardener - hope you start feeling more yourself very soon.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
