  • @Fran IOM,..like with your weather ours was similar cold but sunny.

Good question about if your post can be seen while you are editing,..i always presumed while editing the post was in a sort of Limbo,..that's food for thought,..i was reading back through some of the posts here about posting a link,..some Internet Browsers have a Copy Link software as part of their Browser,..where they have its only a matter of  clicking on the right or left of the link,..then moving your pointer along the link with your Click still held down while its turned blue,..it should remain blue,..then click Copy, then paste it wherever one wants it to be,..Email or Forum Post and PM.

If you were in YouTube,..its even easier,..Click On Share and it automatically copies it for you to post anywhere.

I don't remember who was asking about this as it skipped my mind as there was mention of coupons and codes,..that's beyond me lol.

OK  i left my slippers just inside the door,.. so when i was coming in from the garden in clogs i would change into slippers,..and when going out i would change from slippers to clogs,..i messed up,..got out of clogs and left slippers where you see them walked indoors in stocking feet lol,..i might have being put off by someone loitering in the doorway.

  • @Liriodendron,..i envy you having all the excitement of preparing to move,..thinking of the changes you will enjoy and the Grandchildren of course,..then there is all the doubts about Medical Insurance and the currency change not forgetting the EU,..it will sort itself out for you so think positive,..take as much as you can fit into a big container truck,..no point in leaving any empty space when you could have taken Stones,..collections and plants.

So another Stone collector,..i had this thing about stones from the time i was about 8 years old,..i used to pick up a stone from home and drop it beside school,..pick up a stone from the school area and take it home,..knowing that those stones would never have travelled without my help,..i was a weird child lol,..interesting having collected your Volcanic Bomb,..collecting beach stones and shells is something many people do without thinking and its a reminder when at home where they were collected from.

A friend took the image of me below as i was beach combing for interesting stones and shells in Spain,..i was in my own world lol.

  • @AnniD,..i bet you had a good laugh at that well fed Hedgehog looking for the door,..then the antics of two of them meeting and the bumping,..that must have being some show,..i can see it all in my mind with the Benny Hill Music,..that bumping is in no way gentle,.. its pretty vicious,..its hard to believe they do that,..many people have never seen it happen.

Oh boy you don't miss seeing things in my images,..though well done lol,..yes that nest of birds is atop the fire place to remind me to repair the neck of one chick as it broke,..there should be 4 wee chicks to be seen,..that nest was given to me while on holiday in Spain with a lady friend from America.

Those Geraniums will do well for you in pots or a deep container,..just good seed compost is what i use and when its warn weather water often as the containers dry quick enough,..if dry the Geraniums droop,..in particular the Cranesbill Geranium.

My Hog from last night,..this was one of the offspring.

  • @Valley Gardener,..those two stones were found on the shore of one of the Islands i visit,..many things of value found around that lake,..its 15 mile long and 12 mile wide,.. the River Shannon runs through it,..the biggest hoard of Viking Gold and Silver in Europe was found on one of the Islands,..the video below near the end there is a ruin of a Castle,..Rindoon Castle,..in a wall there was a big gold cross and chalice found,..probably hidden from the Vikings Raids.

    https://youtu.be/wVolgy_1Jzk

Some of the Islands are pretty big and families did live there alas most Islands are now uninhabited though the houses and Churches Ruins are there,..most going back to around the year 400 AD

A very early good morning to you all. I seem to be up and about far too soon for my own good these days. As the cupboards are bare I will make an early trip to the Supermarket and make use of the time.

@nultyphilip224 that photo of the young hedgehog is very clear and it's hard to believe they can be so bad tempered with each other as described in the @AnniD Benny Hill sketch. The geraniums will make a lovely display grouped like that, but would it be better to lift the lower troughs up a bit with bricks as they might tumble all over the ground when they get going?

You don't seriously want to watch "In The Night Garden" do you? I think you are pulling my leg lol. It can be found on the childrens channel Cbeebies which is part of the BBC. I only watch it with small children on my knee.

That Hosta is a mystery. The other one I divided was green and gold, and they have all come up the same, but this green and white one is odd. I can't understand it, but maybe when the leaves unfurl more, it will look true.

@Valley Gardener you sounded perkier in your post yesterday so that is a good sign. I had to figure out what swing time was, but you mean when will I hang them up? Not for a couple of weeks yet, but this will give them a chance to settle and fill out a little. I have gone for pastel colours this year instead of the fruit bowl effect of previous years so I will see how they go. I think you should do at least one this year.

@Fran IOM It has been cold so I do hope none of your plants suffer. I am not seeing the predicted frosts so fingers crossed you will be ok. What a disappointment about the potatoes turning to mush. Like you, I gave them a miss this year. Too much of a faff for too little return in my case. I had to laugh with your description of the weedpuller and having hardly any grass left. I'm sure it's not that bad.

@AnniD yes, I noticed the wheelbarrow and the dog. I think it might have been the producers joke. It definitely looks like Adam is being lined up for the big job once Monty retires. I loved your description of the hedgehogs bumping. Who would have thought it. They need to learn to get along 😀.

@Liriodendron I saw your town Todmorden on Britain in Bloom. It looks like a lovely place to stay. Will you miss it when you go?

I won't be here much for the rest of the day as I am having a night at my daughters. It is the finale of Line of Duty so will be watching that avidly. I really hope H isn't Hastings as I would miss his one liners like "Do you think I came up the Lagan in a bubble fella?"

Anyway, I will use Frans line and leave you all in peace now. Have a great day whatever you decide to do.

@Purplerain.    I love Line of duty.....an amazing series.  I've watched from the beginning through my delicate state.    Isn't it a pain when the cupboards get low!! Loathe grocery shopping!!!!I

@nultyphilip224.  What a fascinating history of the area,I'm sure that "brain"stone isn't an accident of nature.     I love to stroll along beaches with head down!!!  When in the Caribbean I used to look for Operculums, may have spelt it wrong, they are snails doors. You aren't allowed to bring back shells, but these are really tiny, and I covered a tissue box with them! I don't think they are found around our beaches.

Thinking of going to Saundersfoot today with a picnic.......yay!!😊

    Good Morning all.
Yet another lovely sunny day with no rain forecast. After the mundane shopping I will be on the allotment no doubt.
@Liriodendron I have no idea what type of soil I have. It is very dark in colour and most things grow well except for Choysia which I have mentioned before. You will have to make sure hubby doesn't offer to sort out the shed for you before you move and later tell you that there were a lot of stones in there which he has managed to get rid of....
Enjoy your day singing. Not something anybody would want me to do!
@nultyphilip224  I think you are probably right about the post being in limbo when you are editing. I will have another attempt later to see if I can put the link on another thread. I might be lucky.. Foxy Molly was trying to remind you to put your slippers on. She also got in the photo of the geraniums. I noticed the nest of birds. How long will it be before it gets fixed? I noticed on one of my Echiums that it is beginning to flower so hopefully I will have several for the bees but it obviously won't be growing to the height it would normally grow. My Hosta Halcyon which came with my order yesterday is very healthy looking but I was disappointed with the colour. Looking "blue" on the website it is actually a healthy looking green. Will have to wait and see what happens.
@Purplerain Like you I was up early this morning. The one day I could "lie in" I am always wide awake. Had to smile at the image of Philip settling down to watch "In the night garden"! I can assure you that my "grass area" is that bad. Haven't watched Gardeners World yet so will have to watch in on my laptop. Used to always watch it early Sunday morning but they don't repeat it any more.
@Valley Gardener Like you I don't like doing the grocery shop. Your mood seems to have lifted so much so when you are doing the shop think about your picnic.

Hope you all enjoy your day including @AnniD

    Good morning everyone  :)
For some reason I can't add to the the above post. Hedgehog was very interested in my bargain buys!
He was not interested in the cat biscuit "garnish" on the food last night though, and left them all neatly piled in the corner of the dish. That made me smile.
@nultyphilip224 , I shall be off out to plant the geraniums in pots later. I think you should watch "In the Night Garden", if only to pick up some stone collecting tips from Macapaca  ;)
Nice to see that Foxy Molly is still "photobombing".
@Purplerain enjoy your night at your daughter's and "Line of Duty". I don't watch it I'm afraid. There was a big article about all the plot lines in one of the papers, but I lost track of it after the second series ! I did read an interesting interview with the actor who plays Hastings, as I have seen him in other things and rather like him. It's a bit like Phillip Glenister in "Life on Mars" , he had been around for years and then suddenly Gene Hunt was the role that made him a household name.
@Valley Gardener Hope you also enjoy "Line of Duty" and that you get to Saundersfoot. Nothing like a breath of sea air to perk you up.
@Liriodendron enjoy your day singing - I picture you like Maria in "The Sound of Music", not necessarily running up mountains while you do it though.
@Fran IOM Enjoy your day, you seem to have been very lucky with the weather of late. The Northerly wind of yesterday has dropped thank goodness, so I am off out with my list.
    Take care everyone  :)
