  • @Purplerain,..Fish looks in tip top health,..well captured image as its not easy to catch an image of them when moving around plus through the glass,..as mentioned before he is quite an old boy at this stage,..so he is being well looked after.

Dahlia Stakes,..i would never have thought of that,..though at 120 cm =4 Ft high they are ideal and even blend in painted green,..you are giving me ideas of me painting my Bird Pole.

Thank you for the compliments   <3

  • @Liriodendron,..''North and South'' would be a good read,..there was a time i would begin a book before going to bed and were it gripping i would keep reading until i finished it or fell asleep,..one of my favourites was the series by ''Jean M. Auel'',..''The Clan Of The Cave Bear,..The Valley Of Horses,..The Mammoth Hunters,..The Plains Of Passage,..Earth's Children,..each of them in the high 900 pages long,..a pre historic saga in ice age Europe,..fantastic reading.

    Hoping your headache goes away.
  • At 10.00 tonight one Hedgehog appeared,..standing in the water dish,..i wasn't happy with the flash showing the reflection.

A second Hog appeared,..the reflection got worse seeing i moved a tad.

Decided i couldn't keep spoiling the images.

So i opened the sliding door and extended my arm out,..ah much better.

Good morning everyone  :) Another busy Thursday awaits. I am going to at least 2 supermarkets over the next couple of days, so will look out for begonias for MIL. Also keeping The Range in mind @Valley Gardener !
Good photos of the hedgehogs @nultyphilip224 , l think they are learning to pose for the camera ! They don'thave the greatest eyesight so you can get quite close. And of course, they have the advantage of being able to roll into a spiky ball if they feel threatened, always handy. OH is just looking at the camera footage now, we have had several visits last night. Anything interesting, l will post a photo.
Hope Foxy Molly gets a good long walk today.
PS Good job on the "nest repair" 😁
Hope all have a good day, apologies if l have ignored anybody's comments/questions, didn't mean to.

Good morning everyone.😕  oh dear the forecast isn't good! Just when I think I could get my bedding bits in. The trays are still in the porch, out of the 3 degrees we've been promised!  What's happened to May?    There is so much to do!

My only wildlife update is that the tadpoles have legs, and are starting to sit on the rock steps that will be a way to emerge eventually!

Last night I went out in the pouring rain to refill the sunflower seeds! Mac,wellies and rain hat! The Goldfinches are so greedy, but I didn't like the thought of there being nothing for them to eat early thismorning!

Looking forward to the hedgehog antics!!
I hope you all have a good day despite the weather............all good after Sunday!😁

Morning all. Have been up and about and had a wander round the garden. Brrrr.

@Valley Gardener I know what you mean about keeping the plants protected. I have been bringing them in at night, but unless it warms up, they won't be going out today. Much as I liked the wooden arch I decided not go back for it, but I was tempted.

@AnniD What a shame that you are only buying begonias for MIL. I think you should get something for yourself 😀. Oh, Fish was one of a pair and the other one was called Chips lol. I didn't name them.

@Fran IOM I think we are all wanting to get on with things but the weather is holding us back. Surely Summer will be on its way soon. Did you manage a browse on SGC when you got home?

@nultyphilip224 the hedgehog pics are really good. They don't seem to mind your flash. How is your weather today? It's so depressing when it's wet and dull. Going back to bed seems to be the best option sometimes. Glad to see you repaired the chick. If I get anything worth reporting done in the garden I will pop in again later.

    Enjoy the day everyone.

@Purplerain , I will bear in mind your comments about buying something for myself  ;)
No luck this morning. We dashed home for some lunch, but ours had to wait.

Only after Mr B had been given his lunch, could we be allowed to have ours. (He sits on the house roof and looks out for the car !!)

    Good Afternoon all.
Didn't get a chance to post this morning. Had boiler serviced which took 1 1/4 hours with chat and coffee and then family life took over so have literally done nothing as yet today apart from some shopping. Feel quite guilty but what can you do. Raining again so looks like another day with no gardening achieved. Think tomorrow promises better weather. Must make an effort now and will go over to feed the birds if the rain isn't too heavy. Will catch up later. Enjoy your day.

    Good Evening all.
It's been another non stop rain day. Although it is frustrating not to be able to garden it does have the advantage that I have managed to achieve indoor jobs which I didn't think I would ever get around to this soon. Did go to feed the birds.
@nultyphilip224. With the allotment being so open the plants have light all around them so don't have them leaning one way or another. Not yet anyway! That poor chick had been broken last year! Good job @AnniD noticed or it would probably be having its first anniversary soon. You will have to be careful taking photos in the future or something else may get noticed. Good photos of the hogs there. They seem much better behaved than those that Anni has visiting her restaurant. I remember many years ago reading the Clan of the Cave Bear series. Really enjoyed them but think the only way to get them then was from the library. No quick ordering on Amazon. There is a thread at the moment for Photinia Red Robin. There are pictures of it in flower and I had no idea that could happen as I have never seen one in flower. There is a tree nearby but I have never seen that in flower and the ones I have are far too young. Are you familiar with the flowers?
@Purplerain. Can't believe your goldfish is 18! Has he grown any in that time? Takes me back to the one I had many years ago called Freddie. He was quite happy in his bowl till I bought a tank and sadly died. It's hard to imagine getting attached to a fish.
@AnniD. Hope you enjoyed your busy Thursday. Mr B is so tame. He has got you well trained. Your garden looks lovely through the window. Browsed through SGC last night but still haven't placed an order! They only had 11 pages and normally they have 22 but you wouldn't know that as you deleted it.
@Valley Gardener. You're as bad as me going out in the rain to fill the bird feeders not wanting them to find them empty in the morning!

Enjoy the rest of your evening.
