Good morning all. Well, it's a bit of a worry isn't it? I had all sorts going through my mind last night. Last time this happened @granma let us know @nultyphilip224 couldn't get on to GW. Is there any way you could get in touch granma?
The weather is looking good again and I will get out to the front garden, as I tried to do yesterday until both sets of children turned up unannounced. I only managed to do one side bit and planted a hosta division, a campanula and a primula vialli.
@Fran IOM you will be busy today preparing for tomorrow. Don't overdo things and I hope your finger is improving.
@AnniD it's lovely when you expect a piece of ground to be hard to work, and then it isn't. You are right in that Monty never seems to encounter the problems we have, like roots and weeds.
@Valley Gardener I'm glad I am not the only one who doesn't watch David Attenborough. I know it is beautifully filmed and educational, but no, not for me. I still miss one cat in particular, William, and his photo is always on show so I know how you feel.
Your garden is lovely @Voyagerxp, but you might get more views on the garden gallery thread where most posters put up their photos.
Anyway, off for that second coffee. Have a good day everyone, and let's hope all will be well here soon.
@Purplerain , good thinking, hopefully granma will put our minds at rest. Hope you get a good day's gardening done, and it works out as you planned @Valley Gardener you need Philip's famous Neem oil for your hostas ! I think l shall be putting out the hanging basket (triobelle calibrachoa), it can take it's chances. I have dahlias to put into their final large pots, clematis to feed, and at least 80 begonias to plant into troughs for MIL. Most importantly, l must feed Mr B of course ! @Fran IOM hope you are feeling better and try not to get too stressed . At least the weather is lovely which helps . Right, see you later everyone
Good Morning all. I have thought of all sorts of reasons as to why Philip isn't here but hopefully it's just a problem getting on the site. It just seems very strange. @Voyagerxp You have a beautiful garden. The Silene is very good ground cover so I shall keep that in mind and how do you protect your Hosta? As @Purplerain said you would get more views on the garden gallery thread and more compliments. @AnniD You will no doubt find out if Mr Hog was successful in the future when he brings his family to see you. It's probably a bit of a worry looking after your neighbours plants now the weather is getting warmer. Maybe a look into the greenhouse every day may be a good idea. Good luck with the 80 begonias! That would really stress me out. Are they cuttings or did OH buy them? Looking forward to tomorrow and hopefully won't overdo things in the meantime. The weather certainly does help. @Purplerain I also had family turn up at the allotment yesterday afternoon. I wasn't feeling very enthusiastic beforehand BUT my SIL had brought the strimmer with him and hey presto all the long grass has gone! That will be a surprise for my son tomorrow. Obviously not a "lawn" but it made me feel so much better. Can't wait to get over there today to tidy up the edges. I often think of past cats that I have had and two in particular, Tibby and Charlie. Tibby was the Mother Theresa in the cat world and Charlie I just adored. Strange how different cats have different effects on you. @Valley Gardener Good luck putting your cosmos out. If you saw my seedlings you would laugh but I am going to give them a chance. Will let you know their fate. The only animal programme I will watch is the Dog Rescuers as although it is sad to see their conditions at first you do get to see what care and attention does for them with a good home to go to.
Must get on with all the jobs that need doing. Will be able to relax tomorrow hopefully. Let's hope that Philip will be back with us very soon. Have a successful day in the garden in this lovely weather.
Actually, his seduction technique needs serious work. He huffed and huffed from at least 10pm until 1.45am. Trouble is, treating your girlfriend as a bowling ball is probably not the best way to go about it. They did disappear off camera though eventually, so you never know
And the dead arose and appeared to many,..well not as serious as that,..i had a visitor arrive last Friday morning and set off home this evening,..the rule laid down is i must lock away my laptops for the duration of said visit,..the rule was made some years ago when i foolishly decided to answer posts in a Forum,..back then i really had to do so as i was one of the two Administrators for the Forum,..the other one was off sick,..anyway it was thought badly of to neglect my visitor by heading off into the Internet,..so for a peaceful life i obey she who commands ,..considering its a long flight from Goose Lake,..Minnesota.
As several of you mentioned its always difficult to know what has happened when someone who should be posting,..suddenly stops,..its difficult to contact that person or know someone who is in contact,..in my case it tends to be @granma,..i can say in a private message that i will be off in the boat but not in the Forum as people who live near me would know i would be away,..most are nice people but others would take advantage of the information.
Thank you for wondering where i was,..after reading all your posts and some were hilarious,..@Fran IOM ,..Jet Washing and holding the button down until the finger went numb,..only to learn there was a Lock On lever ,..not so funny though when the cat jumped on a finger that was used as a landing pad and hung on by claw taking with it a chunk of flesh,..ouch i squirmed at that,..then @Valley Gardener thinking my reason for being AWOL might be that i really needed that Prescription ,..@AnniD giving the description of Mr Hedgehogs bad amorous approaches,..i am sure @Purplerain that the Parsley perked up and didn't taste of old goldfish water lol.
