  • Today i potted these Tall Salvia seedlings from the seed tray in the greenhouse,..there are another eight,..our weather is good enough to have them outside now though instead of planting them in the ground i decided its safe to keep them in pots until they get a tad bigger,..also its a warning to Miss Cat and Miss Dog not to touch.

Some can be planted where they are but spacing 30 cm=12 ins apart will mean looking for locations elsewhere and that will be some search as can be seen from below,..the garden filled in during the past weekend.

    Cranesbill Geraniums certainly filled in.

    Viewed from the other end.

Arum Lily/Calla Lily just starting to bloom.

    Chilean Lantern Tree.

Out into the green meadows which were covered with water for months.

Good morning all, another beautiful day here  :)
Playing "Spot Foxy Molly" in the photos today, and more beautiful healthy plants @nultyphilip224 .
Must get on, a lot to do today (still haven't got those begonias planted 🙄).
OH is taking me out for breakfast before we start , so must crack on. Hope everyone is okay.  :)

Good morning all. Beautiful day again and for that reason I have decided not to go walking as there is so much to do in the garden. I love that photo of Whisper @nultyphilip224, she looks so majestic posing with the Calla Lily. I have some just beginning to poke through. You can come up for air now lol.

@AnniD, so you managed to double up on the Nemesia and grab some more hanging baskets. Well done for another good haul. Have you done the toms in baskets before? I thought about it with the tumbling toms but wondered if there might not be enough compost to keep them going. I have them in the black florist buckets 8 for 99p you find under the table at Morrisons. They are handy for growing sweet peas and clematis too, with cheap obelisks you find in Home Bargains that fit in perfectly. I heat up a screwdriver and melt holes in the bottom for drainage. That's my "how to garden on a budget" lesson for the day.

@Fran IOM and @Valley Gardener hope all is well with you. Have a good day on your windswept island @islander.

    Good morning all.
@nultyphilip224 what gorgeous lush green meadows,I bet Foxy Molly loves it!
Whisper looking serene catching a few rays too!
The garden is looking very filled out, lots of ferns......beautiful, I'm hoping my "wild"geraniums won't take over,I've planted them each side of the arch with a "proper"one!

@ AnniD have a nice brekkie!

@Purplerain  All advice on cash savers appreciated!😁😁

    @FranIOM . Hope you're having a great time!

@islander .I know exactly whatwhat you mean, I'm getting on a bit now,and just want things simple,I used to supply the family and neighbours with bedding plants, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc from my greenhouse, now I just buy a few for my 2/3 urns. I like Salvias and Penstemons etc, reliably returning the following year!!
I also try not to kneel now!😁😁😁😁😁

    Good Morning all.
We are lucky to have this beautiful weather. Let's hope it lasts.
I feel quite exhausted after doing so much in the last week or two and now able to relax it seems to catch up on you. Son and girlfriend arrived safely so it's lovely to see them. As yet I haven't received any feedback on the allotment but maybe I will get a compliment or two as time goes on. Put it down to "jet lag". Buddy is pleased to have more people to make a fuss of him but the cat does not like strangers in the house.
@nultyphilip224   Lovely to see all your photos. Hard to believe those roses are from your cuttings. Whisper thinks you have done a grand job and Foxy Molly is pleased to see the water has disappeared.
@Valley Gardener Good to hear you are back out in the garden and being sensible to take rests in between. How's the shed these days? Just being out in the garden does you good even if you don't achieve all you want to.
@Purplerain  Know what you mean by thinking "one more look". I have often closed down and then had another look.
@AnniD   Well done for sticking to your list even if your maths isn't so good. Still waiting for my order from SGC. I am sure the hedgehogs appreciate everything you do. Hope you enjoyed your breakfast. Full English?
@islander Lovely to hear from you. Hope you achieve everything you want just to be able to sit and look without too much hard work. Your cats must be good company and must appreciate everything you do for them.

Time is getting on and have to go out this morning so will see what the day brings.
Have a lovely day all. Sorry if I have missed anything.

I was just wondering what the lovely cat's name was and then you answered it! She does look very elegant indeed. Miss my cat and cannot wait to get a kitten. Beautiful garden, by the way.

@Purplerain just popping in to say  (before l forget), l have had tomatoes in hanging baskets before, and they've been pretty successful. I use one that looks like an upside down witch's hat, if you know the type l mean, so they don't dry out too quickly.
Breakfast was lovely (yes, it was a full English, fried bread not hash brown, yum.), and begonias are done. Tea finished, l'm off out again. Have a good afternoon everyone  :)
  • @islander,..i like your love of the old flowers,.. a Cottage Garden tends to consist of many of them plus some edibles,..i guess many of us are retired and perhaps some as old as myself and yourself,..i am heading for 75 next birthday but don't feel anything near that,..it must be the long walks and gardening,..both make each day worth starting with a smile.

    Foxgloves 'Digitalis',..just starting to bloom.

    Shamrocks Pink 'Oxalis debilis'.

Rosa ( Rose 'Handel' ) and Heucherella 'Sweet Tea'

  • @AnniD,..glorious weather here as well,..only managed to sit and take a break once since breakfast,..the day started with a visit to Aldi,..sooooo many garden plants and garden accessories one would be tempted but i have to stick to my own rules grow it all from seeds cuttings and dividing plus swapping,..it works and is fun.

You ladies are always getting bargains with plants but today i got a bargain though not a plant,..Spectacles Cleaning Wipes,..5.49 euro for 50 at Booths,..1.49 for 50 at Aldi,..individually wrapped ones,..some difference in price,..so i bought two lots saving me 8 euro,..mmmmmm then again think what i was saving before i started wearing glasses.

The first rose to bloom on this bush today,..its a No ID Rose.

    Plus another No ID.

    Oh i like them.

  • @Purplerain,..gasp,..i was holding my breath lol.

'' Whisper'' is just over 10 years old,..below is her Mother ''Olivia''

''Olivia'' had a habit of going walk about,..at one time for three months,..one day she never returned.

''Olivia's'' Mother below named ''Plain'',..who would be ''Whisper's '' Grandmother,..she trained every cat that came into the house to be house trained.

Rosa ( Rose 'Korresia' )-----------------Strong sweet scent.
