Good Morning all. Hope the sun is shining where you are like it is here. @nultyphilip224. OH suffers from lack of sleep and would give anything to sleep right through the night. Has tried all sorts of remedies but to no avail. I actually have one rose out and could maybe get a photo before it has died off. Was very annoyed with myself as I planted out a clematis and think I have lost it being too impatient. I shall wait and see if it picks up but don't hold out much hope. @Purplerain I have never tried to knit on four needles. Why on earth would they try to teach primary school children to knit socks one of the hardest things. It used to be a scarf in plain knitting! Hope your Antirrhinums do ok and the meeting isn't too boring.
Sleep,..i had quite a lot in the past 48 hours,..fantastic feeling not walking up every few minutes wondering why i woke,..i do sleep very light on one occasion what woke me was the alarm clock stopped ticking.
@Fran IOM,..''Whisper'' was evicted from the container,..i had not planned it but seeing it had rained i didn't want her sleeping on wet or damp soil and so i places a plastic basin inside the container,..its a snug fit,..my plan to keep her dry worked but not in the container with the basin,..she slept outside the back door and declines from entering the house since the warm weather arrived.
Ah the Digitalis 'Foxgloves',..i never thought anything special about them as they change from year to year just slightly,..these are from seeds i got years ago and have cross bred many times,..the tallest now are just over 2 Metres and still growing.
So your OH is in a similar situation to me,..sleep wise,..thanks to late night TV and the occasional book to read one remains sane,..i think lol.
Yes you must get a picture of your first rose to appear this season.
@islander,..oh that was some experience to travel such a long journey in a Mini,..with 11 Cats and 5 Kittens,..were they very vocal or did they sleep?.
Midges,..they used to drive me crazy,..bites on my face,..down the inside of my shirt,..up my trouser legs,..and on a night when one had to be out in the dark until sunrise,..its not so bad here in the Midlands,..perhaps because its so flat an area that the slightest breeze blows the Midge away.
Congrats on your Pound Shop Rose coming into bloom,..a yellow,..@Fran IOM is also in the same position,..as for mine yikes they are blooming in abundance at present.
Some No ID's.
Digitalis 'Foxgloves',..opening their blooms better today.
@Purplerain,..that was a long video of the rose 'Ice Cream',..i took an image of most of the blooms while it was in season,..the trouble then was to find a tune that was 10 mins long,..i was lucky with the one i found.
Very hard to capture an image without Foxy Molly appearing.
I see someone peeping out on the far right,..Tall plant in the middle is Perennial Sweet Pea,..in the middle foreground Nepetia cataria 'Cat Mint',..not sure i have the spelling right?.
Heucheras,..some with the sunlight behind them.
Looking inside the ' Foxglove',..that might make up for my absence.
Good morning all. Fabulous pictures @nultyphilip224,and lots of interesting reading about cats and knitting! Love it! I love your rocks and ferny shaded spaces,I think I'll have a while to wait for some shade from my young tree, but it has new growth. @islander lovely hearing about your rescue cats,it's a pity you can't get hold of Tom and get him done, but I guess it would be obvious! We got our neighbours cat speyed in Spain unknown to them!! Poor cat kept having kittens which mysteriously disappeared,so our vet said bring her in and i will make the stitch very discreet. She spent the night in a cosy bed in our garage, with nice food etc,and bless her she didn't want to go back home the next day. They never knew! We eventually got 8 cats in our village neutered!
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.
Good Morning all. Didn't think that this weather was going to last but seems to be a good forecast for the rest of the week. @nultyphilip224. It's strange how the lack of a certain noise can wake you up. Didn't think you would need an alarm clock! You can guarantee if you change a cat's sleeping area they won't go back. I can see why you didn't want her to sleep on the damp soil. Your photos wouldn't be the same without Foxy Molly. My foxgloves seem to be growing quite tall so maybe there's a chance I could see some nice flowers. The one rose I have is a David Austin but I got it cheaper as it didn't have a label. The ones I originally got from the pound shop seem to be doing well but take a couple of years. With my Heucheras being in the ground they seem to go mad without the restriction of a pot. More photos on the horizon. @islander. How you managed with all those cats travelling I don't know. "Tibby" didn't mind at all and used to sit in the back of the van (no cat basket) even with an overnight stay and await his new destination. Both Tibby and our dog at the time we moved here were strays we had taken in. They were the best of friends. @Valley Gardener Good to see you back. Hoped you hadn't had a relapse. I can imagine how you felt having those cats neutered. Wonder if the owners ever wondered why their cats never had any more kittens. Although we don't really want rain the gardens could certainly do with it. Most of the allotment is in the sun so can't really hose it unless I went over much later in the evening. A very small area is in the shade late afternoon so that has been well watered. We haven't heard from @AnniD for a few days so hope she is just too busy to look in.
Good afternoon all. I was in a rush this morning, but I tried to take a photo of a yellow climbing rose that didn't work as the sun was in my eyes. Home now and quickly took this one. It needs deadheading now that I look at it but I can't remember its name. Like you Fran I hope anni is ok.
I drove from Cornwall to London; the car died in the centre of London and had to be pushed... Then to the overnight train to Scotland ; they pushed the car aboard and as I was in the AA, I rang ahead to be met by a garage. The cats spent the journey in the Guards van.... The garage "fixed" the car but got the wiring mixed so nothing worked well ..... got to the orkney mainland to find a delay on the house deal so nowhere to go. Cats went into a cattery etc while I did battle with the agents and bank. Took nearly two weeks.. When I came to Ireland,... ah you don't want to know!!! I am headed for 80 and too old for these shenanigans
@islander,..it must be a nightmare to have car breakdown in the centre of London especially when not living there but passing through,..you were lucky to having being an AA Member,..your entire journey was bedlam,..when you are sitting outside now in the peace and quiet it must mean a lot when you look back at events like that journey.
The rose that lasted ten years gave good value seeing it came from a pound shop,..though i have had good reports of rose bushes purchased from them,..cherish the new yellow rose replacement.

@V@"Valley Gardener",..it was a very warm sunny day here and taking pictures from a shady area into a bright sunny area was like looking at a huge spotlight,..one plant giving shade is my Perennial Sweet Pea,..its very wide and tall this year,..its a very thirsty plant so i gave it a good watering daily,..lets hope it rewards me with lots of blooms.
Lupins are already showing signs of blooming and so i was helping by trimming off some of the excess foliage.

@Fran IOM, Ah the alarm clock lol,..its for those rare moments of a morning that i must be out somewhere early,..just in case i fall asleep which will happen when i least want it.
Your right about changing the Cat's sleeping area,..she hasn't gone back to that container again,..sleeps outside the back door in a sheltered spot.
I will keep my fingers crossed for your Foxgloves to produce spectacular blooms,..your Heuchera's will thrive out in the garden as compared to in a container,..nice to know yours are thriving,..i have 12 in different spots some in the garden but most in containers as i can move them when need be,..like of late i had to move them because the Lupins and Delphiniums were getting wider and taller and starting to crowd them.
More photo's on the horizon,..looking forward to seeing them arrive
Rosa ( Rose 'Handel' )
The first bloom from the Hardy Geranium 'Cranes Bill'.
