Some pictures from @Fran IOM ,..who will explain the location and images when next she comes on line.

This one doesn't need any explanation. He is guarding the shed
door. Daren't go in TKMax in case they have loads more in.

This shows about 3/4 of the allotment taken from the entrance
justs a few yards up. The flower beds are covered in petals from
the blossom on the apple tree.(Cooking apples). The little wall
there built from roof tiles. You can also see the length of some of
the grass before SIL used the trimmer.

This one shows what couldn't be seen on the previous one.
That is what I call my "fruit area" in very loose terms! Far right
is the fuchsia hedge which I had nearly managed to pull out.
They were taking over the area. All I have there really are the
strawberry plants and one lone gooseberry bush and if they
grow raspberries and blackberries. The foreground is a little
fuchsia hedge following the footpath which can't be seen. You
can see the pergola that my son built for me which has two
    Iceberg climbing roses each side.

Two of my many Heucheras. Top far left is the pebbled path which
    goes around the whole allotment.

This is going up the right side towards the seating area."Patio".
Table and chairs and eventually the shrubs in front will be tall
enough to hide this area when entering. My son trained the
privet to go across the top and when duly trimmed it is like an
even shape which I can always take a photo of at a later date.

You can just see the roofing tiles which form the edges of all
the bedding areas. That's my double Echium which won't be
able to grow as tall as it should.

    Same Heucheras as shown before.
Phew! Didn't think I was going to be able to achieve all that.
Hope I haven't bored you. Spent 1 1/2 hours there this afternoon in peace
and quiet apart from the bird who is always singing. Mild no breeze but no
sun until I packed up to leave. It was just a case of sifting soil and pottering.
Will leave a few more photos for a later date.
Hope you have all had a good day.

Just popped in to say thanks for the explanation Fran, l can get the layout in my mind's eye now. It's lovely and l can tell you really love it. Is it anywhere near the sea ? It's just that those houses in the background look as if they're by the seaside !

Hi Anni. It's about a ten minute walk down to the beach all down hill! Not far away. Somewhere Buddy likes to go for his run about. I know what you mean by the look of the houses. They were built in the 1890's! I think they were originally detached and then had houses built in between.
  • Hi Folks,..i am running very late tonight,..well its morning at this stage it being 12.30,..i will reply to your posts later on Sunday when i am feeling fresh and clear headed.

@Fran IOM,..congrats on your well done job of using the 'Quote' to explain your images.

Your Allotment is more that i expected both in size and its beauty,..i can see what draws you over there when you have any time,..its so private with the Hedge surrounding it,..i would refer to it as your private garden,..i noticed your spot for taking a break and can just about see a chair and table peeking out,..now that is well concealed.

I overworked today,..between the Foxy Molly walk,..then deciding to dig up 2 Metres long of a Cape Fuchsia,..the roots were over a Metre long and deep and pulling them up by hand was more convenient than using any garden tools,..catch up on posts tomorrow.

    The new space.

    Good Morning all.
Lovely sunny day today. Just catching up while I have some peace. Even Buddy has gone out probably down to the beach as no dogs allowed after 10am. Probably @nultyphilip224 is catching up on his sleep and others enjoying the day.
@nultyphilip224 The "patio" area on the allotment is the perfect place to sit as you can survey everything. The table is very old and heavy. Painted the ironwork with Hammerite and sanded and varnished the top. Another photo for the future. We inherited the plastic chairs which don't really match the old table! I know how hard it is to dig up fuchsia! The wild fuchsia that is on the allotment grows at an amazing rate and the roots, as you say, are so long. I manage to half pull it out and then use secateurs to break the roots and then have to dig around to remove them. Have you decided what is going to go in your new space? Foxy Molly is thinking about it.
@islander How many cats do you have at the moment? So glad the knitting helps you so much. I used to knit a lot many years ago when the children were young and always knitted their school jumpers, mine and OH's. Now I find that wool is so expensive you can buy ready made much cheaper. I now do crochet instead and that involves blankets for babies who always seem to be expected by someone we know. I recognised one on a pram in town once and as I didn't know the person I had made it for I approached her.

Well I hope you all have a good day whatever you are doing.
  • @Purplerain,..i have come across those fancy coloured eggs but have to admit i never tried eating any,..i have eaten blue Duck Eggs,..they are a light blue and taste the same as any other duck egg,..i kept quite a few Hens and Ducks some years ago but when i moved to my present house i had to sell them all.

I thought i was cracking up over a post i answered and had to go back through posts to see how i could have mistakenly thought it was you that had the ''Bengal Cat'',..lo and behold i figured out some of what happened,..if you look at your post dated 17th of May where it refers to @nultyphilip224,..i answered that part of the post by pasting it into my reply of the 18th of May to you,..how that section in your post  got there is beyond me as that is part of a post from @Fran IOM to me,..i had scrolled back and of course answered that section to me in your post without thinking lol,..you must have thought i had flipped  :),..its weird lol.

@islander. Good Evening. Looks like it's only the two of us today. How lovely to have five cats around you. You were lucky to get so much yarn and contents of closed down craft shop. I have bags of odd bits left over from something or other but they do come in handy. It's so good you enjoy doing it to keep you busy. Quite therapeutic. Bet the family were put out when the label was found. At least the blankets I make are unmistakably mine. That little dress you knitted is a work of art. You can be proud to think you have something in a museum. Do hope you have had a peaceful day and all your cats have behaved themselves.
@nultyphilip224. We were posting at the same time! Will get back tomorrow.
  • @Fran IOM,..hi there lol,..yep probably both clicked Post at the same time,..sorry about that,..i had a very good sleep it was my fizzled out night last night,..i has 11 hours sleep in the past 72 hours,..Friday night only three hours,..nothing i can do about it and have tried everything in the past its just inconvenient at times when it catches up on me lol.
  • @islander,..oh boy you are as bad as i was some years ago,..you have five cats,.. my highest was 16 between cats and kittens and all at the same time,..i realised something had to be done so i got them all doctored through a Charity Group who didn't charge a fee but expected a donation,..for doctoring my group i gave a generous donation and was happy to do so because of the amount needing attention.

Oh i have thoughts of Stinker Tom getting in to your yarn,..not a happy thought,..when i had to take one of my Tom's to the Vet he peed in the car,..it took ages for the scent to fade away.

That garment is a beautiful work of art,..my Mother used to knit and do Crochet work for friends and family,..i remember lots of people asking for,..i suppose one would call them collars of Crochet for garments when it was all the fashion back in the 1950's.

I have two Aran Jumpers at present made by ''Irish Homecraft'',..heaven knows where they were made,..oh yes i am familiar with many of the Home Knitters around ''Carrick'' and ''Teelin'' area of Donegal,..i went there very often as i at one time lived in Strabane,..Co Tyrone,..working then as a Lifeguard in Letterkenny Swimming Pool,..i always seem to end up where there is water aplenty lol.

Some of the newest blooms below.

The first bloom this year from Rosa ( Rose 'Ice Cream' ) its also named ' Rosa 'Memorie'.

Its first blooms have colour other than white,..thereafter its almost white or a creamy white.

I made a video some time ago on this rose blooms,..only look at it if one has 10 mins to spare as that's how long it is,..oh the music starts off slow and builds up.

Good morning all. @nultyphilip224 yes, it is me who has the pesky Bengal visiting and causing all sorts of trouble but I can see how it could get confusing on this thread at times. The Clivea is looking gorgeous and I enjoyed the rose video. You filmed that rose from every angle possible😀. I still haven't eaten the egg.

Knitting is something I have avoided since primary school, when I was forced to knit socks on four pins. I used to smuggle it home for my mum to fix and I swore I would never knit again. I never have, but I can sew. My mum and grandma could knit Arans and Fair Isles but I think it is a bit of a lost art now.

I plan on putting out the Antirrhinums today, but first I have to go to a meeting. I can't stand meetings but when you are "in things" you have to go to them now and again.

I hope you are all well and looking forward to another wonderful day.
