Good morning everyone. I am up bright and early to blue skies but there is a chill in the air. I am getting tired of putting plants and baskets out, and then bringing them in at night. Although I love May I am impatient to get going properly.

@Fran IOM I hope your fingers have recovered from pressure washing and scratches. Not long now till your son comes home. I await your Secret Garden photos with excitement. I have my own image in my head as to how it looks so it will be good to actually see it. I hope your clematis takes, although I keep them in a pot for the first year. One is climbing up a washing pole regardless, so I have wrapped twine round the pole to help it out. It is group 3 so will be cut down in February anyway and then hopefully planted out properly next year.

@AnniD any interesting activity going on in your garden? I read the posts about the hedgehog programme on channel 5 but won't watch it. I get too upset if sad things happen and that is why I won't see War Horse or Disney films with animals in them ☹️. I am daft I know, but I couldn't even watch E.T.

I don't know why @nultyphilip224 hasn't been on and I worry that he is ok. That is the trouble with forums. We would never know if something has happened to a poster unless we have other ways of being in touch.

Anyway, I haven't had coffee number one yet, so I will make that and start the day. Hope you all enjoy yours.

    Good morning everyone  :)
Like you @Purplerain l'm awake early (not necessarily out of bed though !). It's a lovely day here as well and l have 7 box plants to try and plant. Don't know how easy it's going to be, it's part of the garden l don't touch very often.
There was more hoggy activity last night although l haven't watched the recordings yet. Anything interesting and l will post a photo.
We went over to neighbour's yesterday - good job l took those cuttings because he's had the whole lot dug out ! I think l have inspired him with the gardening bug, as we've done 2 beds (redesigned and planted) and now he's onto the third.
@Fran IOM look forward to the photos ! Make sure you don't wear yourself out before your son gets home (easier said than done l know).
Wishing @Valley Gardener & @Liriodendron a good day (no need to reply Liri :) ),,and hope also that @nultyphilip224, Foxy  Molly and Whisper are okay.
Time for second cup of tea - it's a two tea day today !

    Good morning all,on second coffee.
@FranIOM you've really been in the wars.......what's with these cats??  Hope your jetwasher finger is on the mend?  Next time a cat throws itself on you,try smearing Aloe Vera on it immediately, very quick healing remedy.
Good luck with new baby clem,I'm sure it will be fine with an eye kept on it.

@nultyphilip 224  I hope you're ok? We are all concerned for you?

@AnniD. I'll get you're glad you took that cutting!!  We must both be inspiring our neighbours, the neighbour on the non rubble side has decided to grow some bits and pieces in homemade troughs (away from his unruly dogs) I saw sweet peas growing up his shed, and said to his wife,do you like sweet peas? She said I don't know I've never tasted them!!!!  She's a simple soul, he can talk for Wales, but she says very little!

@Purplerain I know what you mean, about Warhorse,Ring of bright water etc,I also can't bear to see sad animal programmes, never watch David Attenborough as he shows all the nitty gritty, and I have finger on the off button!!    We still  haven't got over the death of cat we had,and that was over ten years ago! She was so special.

Hello @Liriodendron hope the  sorting has been started, even if the packing hasn't yet!

    Have a lovely day everyone.
    Philip where are you??

    Good Morning all.
Looks as though we are all up bright and early. I was up at 7am honestly but watching the gardening programmes. They did an experiment to find out what was the best deterrent for slugs and snails. Egg shells, coffee, grit etc. but none of them really worked. Had a night camera on them and when it was fast forwarded it was amazing what went on. They decided that the only solution was to go out at night with a torch and put them in a plastic bag, tie a knot and put them in the bin. Hadn't heard of Neem oil obviously.
@Purplerain. Finger still painful. Normally I get a scratch but nothing quite so deep before. I was standing up at the time and must have got my finger in the way to get him off. Despite the way he ill treats me I wouldn't part with him. I must look up the name of my clematis. The label is somewhere. Do hope I can work out how to get the photos on the forum. With daughter, granddaughter SIL and son soon surely someone will know. My granddaughter helped me out once with someone else on the forum and was applauded.
@AnniD Maybe we shall see some more hoggy photos. Well done in getting your neighbour interested in gardening. I have virtually worn myself out but this week should be a lot easier I hope. The Secret Garden could be revealed some time soon.  :)
@Valley Gardener Must get some Aloe Vera. I think Arnica is supposed to be good as well. Did put some Manuka honey on it.  Noticed the Supervet uses it. Will certainly keep an eye on the Clem. Everything is ready for it to start climbing. It is next to a mature one which is already starting to produce buds. My SIL said he has got a strimmer so that should help with all the long grass.

It's strange we haven't heard from Philip. I have often thought that we would have no idea what had happened when we only have the forum for communication. I think it has happened on other threads as well. Let's hope he is just enjoying himself. I feel that if you are ill you may be able to put a short note to explain your absence.

Have a good day everyone. Lovely weather to get out in the garden.

Have had a busy morning, won't repeat what l posted on the Anyone done any gardening thread, except to say it must be what planting is like for Monty Don !
Waiting for OH to come back for lunch so have fed Mr B while l am waiting.
@Valley Gardener maybe Philip has lost his internet connection. Glad you are out in the garden again.

@Valley Gardener @AnniD.  The first thing that crossed my mind for the absence of Philip was internet problems but I think @Valley Gardener would make a good Miss Marple! Had forgotten about the prescription. Hope it's not the latter.

    Good morning everyone  :)
Still no word from Philip,  l do hope everything is okay.
@Voyagerxp, lovely photos,  that silene is a very pretty colour. Your garden looks very neat and tidy, wish l could say the same !
More hoggy huffing last night, Hedgehog is very determined ! I watched them for a while from the bedroom window,  he had a lot of patience but l don't know if he was successful (if you know what l mean ;) )
Looks like another lovely day, amongst other things l need to check the plants in neighbour's greenhouse. He said just to check every other day, but l think it's going to be much warmer than we thought.
    Have a good day  :)
