@Purplerain,..miserable day here,..i was up at 07.30 and hoped the dark moist windy day would change,..nope it got worse,..might go back to bed.
Oh yes i remember you have a really ancient Goldfish,..that's a great age,..most people find they die on them yet its all down to water and feeding in the end that increases their lifespan.
I bet your temperature increased when your Son threw out the old Goldfish Water over your seedlings,..i would freak out but you say nearly all will be saved,..that's a consolation.
What a shame you got the metal arch prior to seeing this reduced in price wooden one,..you tend to be lucky when buying plants and things.
Did you at least get a new curtain pole?,..keep the old one if you did,..they are ideal for hanging a bird feeder on top,..if you have the one that comes in two parts and one fits into the other,..you cut a piece of plastic piping just enough to support the section where the two parts meet,..screw two screws just below where the sections meet to stop the plastic piping slide down.
@AnniD. Yes that's the one! Not my choice, but I had one side of the Arch and OH had the other,I chose a red rose, and Akebia, he chose Abutilon, and the Daniel Deronda clem. He picks showy stuff, and I m more subdued and hopefully longer lasting!! Well plantwise!!🌹 Been told off today for not being able to bring his Stripey Gazania through the winter!! Perhaps it knew I didn't like it!!🌻🌻🌻🌻
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.
@Valley Gardener,..ah i know the one now,..its also a Mallow like the Lavatera,..your one is probably the Chinese Bell Flower,..not to be confused with the Chinese Lantern Flower,..though there is an Indian one as well,..anyway all of them like moist soil,..they are hardy,..they tend to start blooming when all your other Perennials are almost finished blooming,..so be patient with yours,..give it some fertiliser to boost it up.
@Fran IOM,..touch wood your Hypericum will pick up,..our local Shopping Centre has a good few of them growing around the car park area,..a friend was admiring them and said she couldn't find any in the Garden Centres so i gave her mine,..i did take a cutting,..it didn't take.
That container i purchased,..i have a few in the garden in fact my biggest Hydrangea is in one of them,..i didn't drill holes in the bottom but about 5cm =2 inches up from the bottom then filled that space with pebbles before adding the soil,..that way the container takes longer to go dry.
The Hedgehog didn't appear until almost 0200 this morning,..of course i was up,..the spotlight needs better positioning plus the glass door cleaned but getting there.
@AnniD,..as you will have spotted the Hedgehog images are a tad out of focus,..its either the image being captured through the glass,..or the spotlight needs re positioning,..i will have another go at it,..the easy way out isn't always as successful lol.
Yep that is the flower that @Valley Gardener is mentioning,..'Chinese Bell Flower'' sometimes named 'Balloon Flower',..a beautiful bloom,..thanks for digging up that image.
@Liriodendron,..best of luck with the Novel Appreciation Group,..if we don't see you posting we know you will be looking in ,..i am not a chatty person myself,..the present members posting here have me in training,..very hard to keep up with them lol.
Hello all. Hope you don’t mind me joining to ask @nultyphilip224 a question about what he uses to feed his plants. It’s a really informative thread and I enjoy reading the comments from everyone. Many thanks Pam
