Don't worry @Valley Gardener I enjoyed reading it. Oh that post @Fran IOM lol. I had been speaking to Marc and he liked it so I deleted it . He knows why 😀. Nothing sinister. It was just saying Nora had been admin before Daniel.
@Valley Gardener Don't worry about it as we can still see your post whenever we want to and I'm surprised I haven't done it myself. No edit on PM's! Nothing more laborious than retyping it all out again. Have had to do that before when the internet went down. @Purplerain I had a good laugh when I read the reason why your post was blank! When I saw it yesterday I was sure there was a "like" on it and thought I was losing it when it had gone this morning!
I wondered about that too @Purplerain - love a mystery ! I took some photos of the garden before the rain came, put my camera in the house and went to the greenhouse. Looked out and there was a sparrowhawk sitting on the pergola for a good minute. I cursed away as I didn't have the camera, then Mr B decided to make a fuss while sitting on the greenhouse roof, so before he became breakfast, I opened the door and the sparrowhawk flew off. Typical isn't it ! Still at least I saw it, a beautiful, if deadly bird. Hedgehog demonstrated the ability to stand on 3 legs and have a scratch
Nice to read that your weather has started with a sunny day,..the same here though really a scorcher,..too hot too quick,..for humans that is,..though the plants love it.
At noon today it was 26C=76F and there were quite a few projects i created in my mind to do in the garden,..however thinking if i started i would continue for a few hours,..so i decided to take Foxy Molly for a long river walk first.
The walk consists of four times the length of this road,..though the other three lengths are along river and meadows.
I am in envy of your beautiful greenhouse,..its a construction of beauty in itself,..enhances the beauty of the garden yet blends in with the garden and blooms.
I always enjoy your images captured of Hedgehog,..even standing on three legs lol,..Blackbird certainly knows where the quality food source can be found now wonder its become a full time resident.
Oops about your weather forecast,..i hope our hot weather change heads your way,..Dublin and London were the same temperature today both 17C,..my garden was 9 degrees warmer.
Its amazing how there was no previous mention of the Neem Oil Mix in GW prior to my mentioning it,..when an order of Neem Oil would arrive in my local Chemist it would all be sold in a very short time,..same with the local Health Food Shop,..''The Honeypot'',..thankfully all down to Amazon i can now have a constant supply,..it would seem GW is a tad behind in plant care against what eats foliage
I haven't read that post on ''Box Caterpillar'' though its well written about since it arrived in England and Scotland also parts of Ireland,..thankfully no sign of it in my garden and i doubt it would survive as it eats foliage which nothing is allowed to do,..by order lol.
Oh ''Whispers'' head is on the right,..the pink is her mouth and nose.
About the Digitalis 'Foxgloves',..i was looking at my notes today and was very surprised when i read that i took the cuttings from the Foxgloves on the 11th and 20th of April 2019,..and within 7 weeks they appeared as below,..i hadn't counted the duration up to now,..when you think about it,..doesn't it beat sowing seeds or buying the plants,..providing of course one has a Foxglove to take cuttings from,..now is the time to take some side shoot cuttings from Foxgloves,..side shoots that have not flowered are best,..or one could wait until next Spring to do so.
Big foliage on Heuchera 'Palace Purple'.
Not a great image but i discovered today when it started singing that this is a young Blackbird.
I take so many images that i forget whether i posted them in the Thread or do i remember them just from uploading them to my computer,..so as you like the wall and ferns both are in the images below,..wall on the left in the first image though its well covered.
Good morning everyone Looking at the forecast, there won't be much gardening going on today. I feel sorry for the "Summer brides" and those opening gardens etc. We had thunderstorms forecast for yesterday evening, but apart from a few rumbles of thunder and steady rain it wasn't too spectacular. Some years ago the house was struck by lightning (on the chimney stack). My ears were still ringing the next day. It blew the sockets out in the lounge amongst other things. I always remember a rather handsome fireman telling me to buy a lottery ticket as we had been very lucky. The torrential rain that followed had put out any fire that had started. My love of spectacular thunderstorms rather petered out after that !
@nultyphilip224, looking at your photos of your garden always makes me feel peaceful (l still smile at Norah Batty on the lean ! She looks like she's had one port and lemon too many). Right, must get on with the day, hope all are well. Laters x
I tried to edit the above, but over ran the time limit I'm sure that some of Philip's photos weren't there before.... I missed the one of Foxy Molly's blissful expression and I also missed the young blackbird using the hosta leaf for shelter, l think that one should be used for the next video. I think Monty has been looking in, reading Philip's posts and following his sage advice re. Neem oil Right, apologies for anything else l have missed, time for another cup of tea l think.
