    Good Morning all.
A bit dull at the moment but supposed to brighten up this afternoon. Have hair appointment this morning so will make it short and sweet.

@nultyphilip224. I look forward to seeing what the rain has encouraged all the plants to do. I have never seen campanula climbing before. I have one in a pot at home which is covered in flowers and one on the allotment which as yet hasn't produced anything. There is definitely a look of a wild streak in Whisper's father. Would admire him at a distance.  Have measured my tallest foxglove and it's 4ft at best. Have a few more feet to go to catch up with yours. I noticed at the entrance to the allotments that there was a lovely foxglove actually growing out of the stone wall. Just shows you how easily they self seed. Never seen it before.

@AnniD  I always find that my hanging baskets dry out so quickly when there is a wind and usually need watering twice a day. I couldn't even find the travel clock in Philip's photo! The clock in my bathroom is still an hour behind as I need something to stand on to reach it and am always "going to do it". Looks as though Mr /Mrs H has been told to form an orderly queue.

@Purplerain Have a good time with your little one. I am sure he will keep you busy. I have two poppies out now but with the rain they are drooping but hopefully will pick up.

    Have a good day all.

    @AnniD,

Humid here with another full day of drizzle,..managed to nip out and take the odd image before i started getting wet.

Ah about the travel clock lol,..there was me thinking you would notice that it was stopped at 09.15,..now i realise you couldn't compare the time on the clock with the time of my post.

I nearly missed you great picture of the Hedgehogs,..it does look as if one decided to taking a meal later rather than have a confrontation lol,..no sign of mine of late.

That Hardy Geranium is Geranium x magnificum 'Purple Cranesbill',..i am hoping we get some sun so it can really come into full bloom.

Keeping my fingers crossed about the Nora Batty,..i will have to check around the base and perhaps the root area to see whats amiss,..fingers crossed.

    No walk today.

On the 12th of May i was at the hardware store and before i went in i noticed a piece of a plant,..10 Cm = 4 inches long,.. so i was careful not to drop something into my trolley to damage it,..took it home and left it in a glass of water for 24 hours,..as below.

No idea what it is but curious to see it take root and maybe even bloom,..dipped it in rooting powder and potted it,..so as it looks today on 31st of May,..its growing.

    Some No ID roses.

  • @Purplerain,

Nice big Poppy you have there,..a light pink,..and looks like you will have lot more of them as you have lots of buds showing,..i see you have Hardy Geraniums in bloom as well,..are those tall Cornflowers i see?.

I hope you have a quiet time with your little visitor and that he doesn't wake too early in the morning lol.

The Perennial Sweet Pea has grown to a huge size with all the rain,..they are greedy for water.

Pink no ID roses in the Hebe.

    Drenched Korresia Roses.

  • @Fran IOM,

Its amazing how the rain can bring on more of the growth of plants as compared to us watering a garden,..every time i look out in the past two days of rain the garden is on the move lol.

You are doing well enough with your Foxglove at 4 Ft and still growing perhaps you have the same species as mine?,..i think there are three sizes they come in small medium and tall,..remember to keep the seeds of your best blooms,..as you noticed they seed in all sorts of places and do so easily.

Once you have those two pots of Campanule you can multiply your stock of them very easily,..even one littl piece broken off will root when stuck in the soil.

Yes interesting about the Campanula and how it will climb up something nearby,..usually its cascading down off a wall or covering a stone or just growing on its own in a clump,..Sweet Allysum will do the same.

Rose ( Rosa 'Ice Cream' )

Nepeta cataria 'Catmint',..coming into bloom but slowly,..it needs lots more sun.

    Campanula portenschuagiana.

A new bloom began today,..an extremely tall bush and a No ID heavy rose.

Good morning all, and apologies for not being here much these last few days. @nultyphilip224 I recognise your cutting as verbena bonariensis. I have a lot of it and where I used to grow it from seed, it now seeds itself and grows to around 6ft in my garden. Add a few feet with your green fingers and it will be a very tall plant indeed.

The rain and drizzle has never stopped since late Tuesday and it is the same this morning. As you say, the garden is on the move, but I wish it would stop. There is just a mass of greenery that will need attending to, when I get the chance. As the small boy is going to his other gran for two days I might get a chance to get out and do it. He will come back to me on Sunday, and parents should be home on Tuesday...whew!

Loved the hedgehog photo @AnniD and as this is as much time I am getting, due to being clambered over, I will just say have a good day all, whatever the weather.

Morning all, late waking up this morning,  think the week is catching up with us.
Saw mum and dad yesterday,  they both seem much brighter,  fingers tightly crossed and as much wood touched as l can  :)
@nultyphilip224 , such a lovely photo of Foxy Molly,  how can you resist those eyes ! I agree with @Purplerain, your trolley bargain is Verbena Bonariensis. I have grown some from seed, hoping to plant them out when the foxgloves come out but they need a bit of a talking to.
OH has fed Mr B (not impressed with the late arrival of breakfast 🙄), and as soon as l have finished tea l had better get up and get on with it.

    Whoops,had a problem signing in!
@AnniD. Very nice pics of the hogs again, forming an orderly queue!
I'm so glad your parents are picking up again,it's been a worry for you,and probably still is.

    @nultyphilip224
Your little piece of heaven is a mass of wonderful colour now, definitely a micro climate enclosed in those old walls, mine is all waiting to go still.......just not warm enough! Very frustrating!  I don't blame you for the "no walk" what a dreadful day, just like the middle of winter.
Thank you for the splitting info for the Calendula,I thought the walls in this area were tumbling with Purple Aubretia, but on closer inspection it's the former! So will try that on my wall.
Yesterday I picked up 10 Nemesias from Lidl for £1.76, just to fill in one or two spaces, while out planting them, I made sure there were lots of frog hiding places,I'm sure they are due to emerge soon!

@Purplerain, I hope you've had a lovely time with your young visitor?

@Fran IOM Hope your recovery is complete now?  I went to the Ascension day service yesterday morning and several people were saying how I'll they'd been, same symptoms,my OH had it,and didn't eat for two days.

@Islander, I'm sorry to hear you are suffering at the moment, but wish you a speedy recovery,as much as possible. I agree,it gives you a lift to see the blooms, also the bees for me.

    Everyone have a good day.😊

    Good Morning all.
Miserable weather at the moment. I think it has actually stopped raining but there is a thick mist with a strong wind. Possibly better weather this afternoon.

@nultyphilip224   Love Foxy Molly's front paws. Looks as though she has dipped them into a tin of white paint. I agree that your find is a Verbena B as I have so much of it but one of my favourite plants. The bees love it and it just sways in the breeze. Maybe you already have some in your garden to compare it to. Didn't know you could get a perennial sweetpea. Yours is enormous so look forward to seeing it in bloom. I shall try some cuttings of my campanula.

@islander  Lovely flowers for you to enjoy there. Do hope you can find some energy to go out. No doubt you will be doing your knitting to keep occupied. I had a text from a mother whose baby I had crocheted a blanket for and she said she had three but mine is her favourite and she won't go to bed without it. Years ago I had one mother get me to repair one as it was so worn out but still needed.

@Purplerain Well done on recognising Philip's cutting. Considering I have so much of it I didn't twig on! It has been nothing but drizzly rain here but somehow there has been a couple of hours in the afternoon to be able to do some weeding etc. Maybe you will catch up before your little one returns. You will probably miss him when he goes home.

@AnniD  Pleased to hear your Mum and Dad seem to be brighter. You must worry every time the phone rings. I have just left my Verbena out and they seem to be doing ok. Self seeded in the grass area just next to the flower bed so will see how they look. Didn't like to disturb them. Hope you catch up with everything.

@Valley Gardener You did get a bargain for £1.76! Bet you can't wait to see the frogs emerge. Do hope your OH is better now. Takes time to feel normal again. When my son first started with it we thought it was something that he was suffering from not knowing it was a bug going around so was quite a worry but once you hear that so many others had the same you feel relieved if not better. Anyway we are all back to normal now thank you.

Time to get on now so have a good day all.

    Not good ☹️.

That soil in the trug was for potting on lavender but now it is just mud.

@Fran IOM how lovely to be told that your blanket is the favourite, that is so nice. My granny made a very colourful blanket that I have always used for the children on a cold night. I call it the Gingerbread House blanket. It is a double bed size, and she used to say she could sell it to the Americans for a fortune. Not sure if that's true but every generation since has loved it and it keeps her memory alive.

@Valley Gardener I love nemesia and I hope your bargain fills in the gaps. I must see if I can get some myself. My young visitor has gone off to his other gran but I have enjoyed having him. He makes me laugh but tires me out as all three year olds do. I must admit that looking down a drain for five minutes in the rain was interesting lol.

@AnniD good for you having a long lie this morning and pleased that your parents are brighter today. I can see how much they mean to you.

@islander I hope you are feeling better, and I am sure that every item you knit is appreciated in Nepal.

@nultyphilip224 this is a long post from me making up for the last few days, but I am sure you know that I appreciate all the effort you put into your thread and how much joy it brings to us all.
