@AnniD  Never stopped raining here. Don't blame you for getting out the jumper. Haven't got to the T shirt stage yet and as you say it's nearly the end of May.
Who would honestly spend £288 on Lavender? Is there something special about it? You can have a look you know....

Well, l suppose there are 120 of them which works out at £2.40 for a 1 litre pot (she said with the aid of a calculator),  but l haven't got room for 1 let alone 120 !
Good if you have a massive garden, or allotment say........... B)

It just shows how observant I am! I thought it was for ONE plant!! I am definitely losing the plot. I might know someone who has an allotment.....🤨

  • @AnniD,

Sorry to read that your Mum is ill,..i hope its not a very serious infection and she recovers quickly.

I didn't get a chance to cut off the damaged Hosta leaves as its being raining all day,..not a heavy rain but a constant drizzle,..maybe i will be lucky and get to cut off the damaged leaves tomorrow,..i always feel a plant is wasting energy trying to keep alive damaged leaves,..just my own thinking  :)

Oh yes that ''Whisper'' can be lethal when she thinks i am about to lift her up,..she will either run off or claws extend and i am lucky she remembers who is boss,..as i mentioned she visits two other houses in the area but nobody has managed to lift her up despite getting food at each house.

I am grinning to myself over the next picture,..because it was such a dull day i had ambient lighting to boost the mood,..looking at the image below i realised the travel clock had stopped and right away i thought,..i bet @AnniD will spot that and remind me to get it going lol,..see the impression you have created lol.

The Yucca 'Spanish Bayonet' tree with the Nora Batty support lol,.. was leaning a bit up to last year so i tied a wire from it to a metal support and it stopped the leaning getting worse,..now i notice its at it again but a very noticeable leaning,..i will have to really work on it this time or i will have to resort to drastic measures.

  • @Purplerain,

Ah yes the hand on top of ''Whispers'' head is the safest spot as she really can not easily swipe at me,..i hate the cuts one gets from a cats claws its similar to a paper cut,..both are painful despite being minute and much sorer than a big open cut.

Those hailstones really cut through the Hostas i imagined the plants would stand the downpour but i was wrong,..up to now i was very pleased that the Neem Oil had prevented any nibbling,..not a sign of a slug or snail,..Bees and Butterflies are aplenty as are Lady Bugs though they are welcome.

Didn't get anything done to the intended Hedgehog House due to the drizzle coming down all day,.though i did have to pop out in the downpour as i spotted a rose bush with lots of roses starting to droop down towards the Delphiniums and rapidly tied it up otherwise the Delphinium blooms though small now would get damaged.

Delphiniums showing colour though the blooms have just began.

    No ID Rose.

Cranesbill Geraniums beginning to show more blooms and almost blocking the pathway but one can still brush past without doing them any damage.

Amazing how the blooms have started at each end and none in the middle as yet.

  • @Valley Gardener,

I use a Duvet but would prefer blankets despite the bother of washing them,..the Duvet slips off me during the night as i tend to twist and turn,..my only solution to the Duvet slipping off,.. regardless of its material,..was to get a King Size one and position myself in the middle lol,..the measures one has to take to have a sleep,..i also had to get a King sized bed due to the twisting and turning,..less chance of falling out.

The Cranesbill Geraniums were not damaged at all,..i guess because they were not as rigid as the Hosta,..they just bent with the hail.

Most of the cats i had,.. like yours,.. loved to be petted but i think ''Whisper'' though having a friendly Mother and Grandmother  had a wild streak from the Father who was a Feral.

  • @Fran IOM,

Just like in your case we had rain all day,..its very hard to have to look out and not be able to venture out though you managed a visit with the umbrella,..never thought of that though on second thought i wouldn't fit an umbrella through the paths these days.

That rain will give everything a good soaking and everything will be given a boost and growing like mad will begin in earnest.

    Lemon Balm 'Melissa officinalis'.

Campanula,..starting to bloom,..given something to grip on to it will climb upwards.

    Mixing them.

    Good morning everyone  :)
Sun is shining but that chilly wind is still blowing. Must remember to keep an eye on the hanging baskets.
@nultyphilip224 love that photo of Queen Foxy Molly surveying her empire that she graciously allows you to share  :) l have studied the photo of the travel clock etc. and cannot see anything amiss.
Mind you, if you could see the state of my house you would realise l'm the last person who should criticise!
That's a lovely hardy geranium, do you know which variety it is ? Also the foxgloves are very pretty,  the way they change colour along the flower spike.
Hope "Nora Batty" doesn't require drastic surgery 🤞
Whisper's ancestor was certainly a very handsome gentleman,  you can see where the "Don't mess with me" attitude comes from.
Anyway, the day awaits. Mr B has had his first dish of soaked mealworms provided and is halfway through it already 🙄
Hope all have a good day.

Good morning all. This will be a short one as I have a small boy staying with me while Mum and Dad are away. He wants a bath. @nultyphilip224 The weather is damp and drizzly just like yours and I still have a few things to plant out. This photo is my first poppy:

Maybe catch up later if I get a minute to myself 😀. Have a good day everyone.
