    Good Morning all.
Yesterday's weather was perfect for gardening. Managed to finish rose area and cover with bark. When you buy a bag of bark you think it will spread over a large area but it doesn't really go very far. Just about had enough to cover the area. At least that is done so I can start on something else today but don't think the weather forecast is very good.
@nultyphilip224. I was a surprise to see you posting during the morning and not late at night. Did your delivery arrive? A phone number I used for Amazon some time ago - 02070847911 got me straight through to someone who was very helpful. I had received a stainless steel waste bin when I had ordered a cheap hoover! She immediately sent me the hoover and told me to keep the bin! Can't remember where I got the number from but it worked and have kept it for future use if needed. You should never have shown photos of your Heucherella, Sweet tea! Love the colour of it. All my Heucheras are in the ground so grow to a very large size.
@AnniD. My word you were up early this morning! Hope you don't feel too tired later today. Glad your story had a happy ending. There would be a lot of upset children. Strange you now have two hedgehogs visiting. Maybe he is the poor relation. And no Mouse. I did notice the email from SGC but as yet haven't had a look at it. I kept saying to myself yesterday that I did not have any more room for any more plants... Must admit I would like some salvias. I still have my Cornus to plant out and as that needs so much space I have no idea where it is going to go.
@Purplerain Haven't tackled the Fatsia or Russian Vine yet. Wanted to make sure I got my rose job finished first. If it doesn't rain this afternoon that could be the next job on the list and quite a lot of space revealed..Hope your lavender plugs arrive soon. Sounds like they will have to be potted up for some time like my poppy plugs. Thanks for the info on the photos but it is rather like a foreign language to me. If I can get my daughter to take some photos or even my son when he comes home and they send them to me in an email I can get them on the forum. Have done that once before and eventually got it right cos the first attempt nobody else could see anything only me!
@Valley Gardener  Do hope you are getting better. Let us know how things are.

Time now for other things and hopefully it won't rain this afternoon. Have a good day all. Sorry if I have missed anything.

  • I am following everyone's posts,I couldn't even do that yesterday as bad a bad reaction to the Codeine, flat out yesterday! A little better today though ears still underwater!!
We have a beautiful day here,so just watching the sheep moving across the hills with their tiny white dots of lambs.
Have a good day, don't overdo things!!

@Valley Gardener, watching the sheep may send you off to sleep ! Sorry that you had a bad reaction,  hopefully things will finally start to settle down. Early start is catching up a little, but plants have been left at charity shop, at GC we had nice tea/coffee and half a Danish pastry each (don't want to go too mad now). Bought 2 roses "Ruby wedding" for the front garden to see how they go (as we are trying to cut down on bedding plants), also 6 nemesias and 2 pots of "Triobelles" - they're like pots of multi coloured calibrachoa.  I had them last year in a basket and they flowered all summer. Then we dropped some conifers off to a woman who wanted them on Freecycle.  Supermarket this afternoon then a fish and chip supper tonight. It's been 7 years today since we both finished work and we always have that just as we did that first night. I have no idea where the years have gone. Time for lunch and my second wind . Take care x

@AnniD congratulations on being retired for 7 years. It has been 6 for me and I've loved every minute of it. Like you, I have been buying again. I bought 2 patio roses called eliana from Brookside Nursery as I was so impressed with the 40 lavender plugs they sent me. They are tiny but beautifully rooted and healthy.

And here are some of them potted on

    Enjoy your fish and chips.

    Good Evening all.
In spite of the rain forecast it turned out to be a perfect afternoon. Warm with no wind and just a few spits of rain now and again but nothing worth bothering about. Certainly wouldn't have sent me indoors.
@Valley Gardener. Good to see you post. Codeine can be quite deadly and is very strong. Hope your ears improve soon. Doing the best thing sitting and watching. Probably be a few days before you notice a significant improvement.
@AnniD  Hope you haven't fallen asleep just yet. You certainly had a busy day planned. Quite a few plants bought at the GC. I will have to google the name as I don't recognise it. The years do go so quickly but as you say retirement is good. Think it will be eight years this July since I retired.
@Purplerain.  More buying plants! Those lavender plugs do look healthy. You will be kept busy potting up 40 of them. You have done them so well. Will take some time to plant out when they are ready as well. Think I shall look at the new email later from SGC..

Fatsia and Russian Vine. Gone. Managed to get rid of them this afternoon. Took some time. You wouldn't believe the roots on the Russian Vine. Had to get the secateurs on to them. It has left a good large space which I have decided will be ideal for my Cornus Winter Flame. Haven't decided yet what to put in the space the Fatsia left. Also think I need two more heurcheras for outside and....

    Have a good evening.

@AnniD. I saw that come up straightaway! Gave me more reason to look at the email☺️

  • Hi Folks,..just after midnight,..took a look out through the glass door and there is one Hedgehog feeding,..i have two dishes of food out just in case the Cat eats some as well,..i certainly will go for a camera in the yard just for the Hedgehogs viewing as its a shame to be disturbing them with the flash on my camera.

Glorious day today very warm and not a drop of rain so i relaxed in the garden after the doggy walk,..nothing much left to do except sow the Hellebore seeds,..so completed that job and cut down the last of the Mahonia japonica.

Amazon contacted me,..the new delivery date is next Friday,..so lots of Neem Oil to use then.

@AnniD,..so you definitely have two Hedgehogs visiting,..the thin one will fatten up quick enough once it gets a taste of something it likes,..i wonder are they choosy about what they eat,..i suppose after eating Slugs anything else shout tease the taste buds lol.

Looking at the Hedgehog Houses on Amazon doesn't really give a good idea of how they look inside,..like would two Hedgehogs fit inside to hibernate,..no point in getting a house for one?.

You surely are as busy as a Bee,..between dropping off the plants at the Charity Shop,..then the GC,..dropping off Conifers,..then the Supermarket,..you have great energy.

Hope you enjoyed your Fish and Chips and the bottle of Sparkling Elder flower Presse.

@granma,..i hope you had some guiding light to let you know just what that flower is,..many Members have that Software on Phone where one posts the picture of the plant in order to get a name,..its something i never used so i am not the best person to give an ID.

@Purplerain,..oh i would be fuming if someone who i was picking up and taking home after and going to the Discussion Group,..just left almost after arriving and didn't have the good manners to inform you,..i wonder will he contact you to apologise?,..i would let him know you turned down a trip to the Owl Sanctuary rather than let him down.

Your Lavender Plugs are looking in tip top health,..i hope you have space for them all.

@Fran IOM ,..thank you for that phone number for Amazon,..they contacted me today to inform me that my Neem Oil will arrive on the 3rd of May,..Friday next,..you had a satisfactory result over your delivery,..and you could keep the incorrect delivery item,..lucky lady.

Oh that Heucherella 'Sweet Tea' was on its last legs due to it pushing itself out of the soil,..i managed to revive it by giving it a good soak before re potting it,..back to health now but should be bigger,..i have a cutting from it coming along.

@Valley Gardener ,..so you were zonked yesterday but feeling a tad better today,..keep improving,..take it easy,..i know you probably wont,..wanting to get out in the garden is drawing you like a magnet lol,..it must be nice seeing those Sheep with the little white dots of Lambs on the hillside,..enjoy the view.

@nultyphilip224 do you spray every single leaf (every few days) with neem oil in order to keep the slugs away?
I'm struggling to understand how large a task that must be in a garden as green as yours!
