Yup @purplerallim, there's always something that can be done! 😊
I’ve no idea what I’m doing.

That's the carrots and beetroot in! They didn't take much doing as the bed was already prepared last month, and had the closhe on warming the soil. Now have to sit a while in the conservatory as back is painful,  before going at something else. I definitely don't have the stamina of two years ago. Can you bits like this @Latimer I hope you can, as its good for the soul to get out.🙂

Another frosty morning , nice and sunny now , so going to cut lawns this afternoon should have dried out nicely
Just put some miniature daffs in garden that was in a pot in garden room
  • Managed to entice my wife to help in the garden today. She got to work LIGHTLY pruning the Callicarpa, as well as the dogwood, while I tackled some of the tasks she is not able to do.
We make a good team! B)

I am wfh so just little bits in breaks. Yesterday I pricked out most of my tomatoes - which equated to about 40 x 3 inch pots. There are some more to do. Some are back ups, just in case, but most will be given away in the end, or worst case scenario, go in the compost bin. I have promised some to a neighbour for his church's spring sale. Today I planted about 10 sweet pea plants in two very big pots.
'tis a bit costly in terms of pots, compost and labels though... I should really just sow less.
I also sat in front of one of the borders, just looking at what there is. This sort of counts as gardening?!? It's a border that mostly contained annuals last year, although I seem to have lost most of the few perennials there were in there unless they make an unexpected reappearance. I was pleased to spot self-seeded nigella, at least two rose campions - not in the right spots, of course -  and something that looks like a broad bean! Of course I could have observed all this while I was weeding (quite a lot to do)... There is also a self seeded rose campion on the other side of the garden far from where I grew them last year.
Last year I had lots of little red poppies I hadn't planted. I am hoping for a repeat but will sow some seeds in situ too.
The bottom half of the garden is a squlechy mud bath. It was a small lake two days ago, though. I really need to plant out my broad beans and peas in the raised beds, there, by Friday but I think they have wicked up the water.

  • ...not yet... :(

So I really got on with things today! Mulched the big bed, pulled some weeds, topped up the raised beds for the veg then took a trip to the GC where I picked up a few plants and some more seeds! Got no work done at all but I counted this as a duvet day for my mental health! 😀
I’ve no idea what I’m doing.

Dug up two clematis and moved them into better positions - I hope. Tied in other clematis and rose shoots and generally pottered. Found digging things up more of a problem than last year and getting up from a kneeling position a big problem!

  • @Lizzie27 I have horrible back and knee issues and have a hard time getting up from kneeling, too.  I invested in a sturdy garden kneeler/stool that when flipped to use as a kneeler, the "legs" can be a support to help you get up.  It's made things so much easier.  Be sure to get one with the foam seat covering the frame completely or they dig into your kneecaps.

"Sitting looking" definitely counts as gardening. I do a lot of that particular exercise. It stops you from being impulsive and making expensive mistakes. Planning, that is what it is. Cogitating on when and how to do any outstanding jobs and waiting to see what grows that you have forgotten you planted.
I went back to finishing decorating my bedroom, painting the last 1/3 of the room, first coat on, just two more to go, so no energy left for gardening. I am waiting for the ground to drain is my excuse.
Yesterday I walked the dog, had my haircut  and did a shopping trip so that was yesterday done and dusted, no gardening.
