  • Removed all the mimulus from planters. They had started to flop, but, as a first timer with these, would repeat.
Replaced with some of my late calendula, which really needed a place to go - soon!!

Weeded the purple slate square on my hands and knees then found great difficulty in getting up again!

@Lizzie27 know how you feel. Picked more broad beans and then felt that my back was saying not any more!

Sorted out the greenhouse toms/cues, picked Strawberries .
Then went out to deadhead the front garden roses, a black bag full, plus the leaves from the grape hyacinth/bluebells picked up. That was me done. Its very annoying trying to do gardening when bending down for an hour leaves me a quivering wreck. 🙄🤷‍♀️

Went out this morning before it gets too hot, around 5.15, deadheaded the "banksii,it's such a mass of small flowers,it just gets a haircut with the long handle loppers. took out some brambles behind the bottom greenhouse,in the veg plot.  Will pick them up later when I have the suitable gloves! Weeded the paving around the pond. Watered the salad in the side greenhouse, which I forgot yesterday!!

Deadheading for me too @Nanny Beach just finished the Geums and I'm seriously wondering if it's worth the effort.

Just out of curiosity, if I cut back just the flower stems to the base, will they send up new ones before the end of the summer?

Even your deadheading is neat and photographed beautifully @Sheps 👌

    Thanks very much @CatDouch

Just wish the Geum flowers lasted a little longer, I can feel a change coming on for next year, something that lasts and doesn't need so much deadheading.
  • We have had some rain! Not enough by a long way, but it is a start.
I watered the greenhouse, tied in some of the tomatoes  and swept the front area of the path.
I have visitors coming next week so have begun tidying and sweeping the house to spread the load.
