  • No gardening today.
Cornwall and we have snow falling and settling! I have decided to cancel the beach walk planned for today.

    Same here.

Does taking photos of our new driveway count?! It's now so smooth it will be a positive pleasure to walk up and down it carrying trugs/compost/plants next year.

@Lizzie27 , you had to go outside so it definitely counts 😉

Did put some extra fleece in g/h this afternoon, last night it went down to minus 1- 3
    yesterday it was minus 0-7

Temperature never got above 0 today , was going to go allotment but decided to go shopping with O/H instead

Hello , this morning we helped plant various tree saplings 150 & 800 various bulbs on an old football field in middle of village
@GWRS I hope you share photos when all of those bulbs are in bloom, I'll bet it's going to look spectacular!

Well got up this Morning to find a good covering of Snow , a bit of a surprise!

There should have been a Village Christmas Fair , unfortunately it was cancelled
However , the 2 local pubs offered there car parks to any stall holders that still wanted to come on first come basis
The WI did cakes & teas in Village hall and the School managed to do something , I was surprised how who busy it was

It is supposed to rain tonight which should clear the snow

It has been wet and much milder here which I'm thankful for.

I emptied the compost bin and cut down the runner beans which had finally been frozen to death. OH will have to take the bean sticks down as he's taller than me.
Checked on some potted heucheras up by the shed which I'd forgotten about and fortunately they seemed okay.
Filled 2 watering cans from one water butt to reduce the level.
Admired a couple of roses which appear to have survived the hard frosts although others have died.
We still haven't pruned the apple trees, they still have most of their leaves on and likewise the roses. It won't hurt to wait.

No gardening here, still under a thick layer of snow. I did clear some snow from the paths though...does that count? And fed the birds🙂
  • We had torrential rain yesterday. Now it is blowing a hooley. Grey and overcast but milder thank goodness.
My apple trees are beginning to part company with their leaves at last. Still no pruning.
No gardening for a long time.
Had a review with the Dr. who tried, in the kindest, most polite way, to suggest I remember my age and begin to behave appropriately, not like a 50-year-old. I just said we have to do something. I am planning to paint the outside of the ground floor extension when the weather improves, having finally finished painting my bedroom. I do not have to stand on ladders so where is the problem?
