I took some Buddleia cuttings last June and they should be ready so I need to Knock them out and see, other than that it will be general gardening or if the gardens not to wet digging.

Dug out a load of comfrey and replaced with a couple of Michaelmas daisies. Dug out some helianthus "Lemon Queen " and potted up .OH found a piece of rope edging which was just what l needed to hold soil back at the end of the flower bed, so dug trench for that and laid it. Potted up a couple of clematis l bought this morning into slightly larger pots. Lunch break now !

Can you get a new handle for it Marran, hope so. Been planting and potting on plants came in to give my old back a little rest and a cuppa. Still loads to do.
  • Oh dear Marran, was it worth it?  The weather has been damp here, so not much done in the garden although I did trim the new growth of lavender which is probably the worse thing to do, but the lower growth was new and bright green, then some bare stem and then the next lot of new growth - so 3 stages.  I will monitor the plant over the coming months.

Raked over part of the flower boarder and sowed a mix of old flower seeds will wait and see what germinates.

Prepared the area that will be eventual become the daffodil cutting bed but for now have broadcast Blue Lupin seed as a green manure and covered with fleece.

Put up timber plank and fitted hooks for tool's in new shed, started to clear out old shed removed shelf and repaired floor, ordered two new security door bars.

Also ordered 1 tonne of horse manure and four of bales of straw to incorporate into this years compost heap it's fresh stuff off the field so needs to be given time to rot down.

Generally pottered around had a chat with the neighbours sat in the sun drinking tea / coffee.

Hope you can repair the spade Marran  :/ looks so nice and shiny.

Watered a few things and that’s my lot today! Might try and get the grass cut later but I’ve got to go and play shops first lol! 😀

@Dee73 My dad's getting a bit old to fix my tools! Though I might still ask!  I bought an old pitchfork on E-ay (with no handle) - He went for a walk in the woods and found the appropriate branch to do it - just had to wait quite a while for it to 'season' before I could have it - it's brilliant now!

@Guernsey Donkey2  I'm pleased I've attacked it - when it's in full growth it's enormous and drowns out other things - worth sacrificing the spade!

@HampshireHog - yes, only bought it 2 years ago.  I'm a bit rough with my tools so I'm told :D
