Watering this morning and collected a few more Charlottes.

We had strong winds yesterday and again today and the French Beans have / are taking a real battering, so much leaf damage, at least the cane wigwams are standing up to the test.

  • My runner beans are also taking a battering from strong wind and looking similar your beans. Poor things.
My onions also look similar but because for some reason the dog and cat have taken to walking though the area where the onions are planted. The tops are bent over so I do not have high hopes for them.

Watered and fed all the tubs, as most of my roses have gone over after the heat. Also the cucumbers and tomatoes.
Took this photo. Dragons and castles. 🙂

Hello @purplerallim - your photo really made me smile. What are these plants that look like castles, please?!

Those are the seed heads of Nectaroscordum Alliums or Sicilian Honey Bells as they are known. I like both the flowers and the look of these after, one of my favourites.😁

Started to get yet another path back from the plants that really do want to grow over them.
Continued to pick some blackcurrants from a plant that seeded in a totally different area many years ago and this year the fruit is amazing.
Planted out BS in totally the wrong area so have done some reorganising. Maybe the whites wont notice!

    ...July 2nd...still raining.
    :/
My perennials are still loving every minute of this wet, humid, dank summer but unfortunately, so are the weeds!  My greens all bolted even though we've had barely any heat or sun.  The peppers are ridiculously stunted and over-watered. The cucumbers, squash, and pumpkins have really taken off, though.  My little pond is full and the tadpoles are happy, and I've only had to water a handful of times since May. :)

Thanks @purplerallim, your photo looks like something out of fairyland. I have only seen the plants in brochures in bloom- the seed - heads give them such a different appearance.

While they are in flower they are the favourite one for bees in my garden, taking over from early Aquilegia. So they never last longer than a month.😆 But the seed heads last all summer, and into Autumn only falling over in high winds then, so they have long time interest.

    Well this is embarrassing.
I thought oooh what an interesting plant so I looked it up. I have some. 😳
On the good side I'd thought Mellors might like some so I could get him some for a gift. I was right. He does like them. How do I know? That's right, because he admires them every time we walk past them...in my garden. Muppet!
