Thank you. Sadly, my tree is usually thick with blossom in Spring which is then stripped from it by the Spring Equinox storms we have down here in Cornwall. The tree is getting on for 12 years old now and I have only had a couple of mature quince from it so far. I live in hope.
Only gentle pottering this week. Just potted-up some Cosmos ‘Kiiro’ (white/pale lemony cream) and the others can be planted into a border, but I’ll wait a bit longer as the slugs might get ‘em when the rain comes next week. The Cosmos ‘Polydor’ look all together different plants - more robust leaves not like the usual feathery Cosmos.
Just deciding whether to plant out a pumpkin or two… it’s going to need plenty of room and compost so not sure if ‘worth it’ but the niece will be expecting a monster plant so don’t want to disappoint.
Too warm to do very much at the moment, so in the cool of the morning I planted up 6 leftover Lobelia, it would have been a shame to throw them in the garden bin, it also made use of the pots I had lying around.
Got home late last night after a few days away and did a hasty bit of watering with the hosepipe, mainly the potted roses and veg. Too tired to do any more. Watered front terrace pots this morning then retreated inside - it's hot, hot, hot!

Germination in the Peat Free was quite poor when compared to the Peat.
Peat Free Peat
It is going to be trial and error until I find a good home made peat free seed sowing mix.
I'm definitely going to stock up on peat based compost at the end of the year and try some different formulations mixing it with peat free.
