Managed to use the strimmer to reduce the lawn height to ideal, before the wintry weather comes. It could have been the last time I cut this lawn, if our moving plans come to fruition. That, is scary.
Nearly 22 years @CrankyYankee I know it's not long compared to some people, but I had expected to live here for the rest of my life. Circumstances have forced the move upon us.
We're moving too @rowlandscastle444 so I have been dividing some of my favourite plants so I can take them with me. I also have a lot in pots, some are too heavy with the plants in so they have been transferred into plastic. My husband has been moving all the outside stuff to the allotment to store in the shed or polytunnel, that way we don't need to rush to get it shifted. If it all falls through at the last minute it will just stay at the allotment until we need it.
Hi @Suesyn The only plants we are going to take, are the ones in large pots. The garden in the new home is well stocked. We decided that basically, we would start afresh.
No gardening done. Waited in all day for the unwanted package to be collected, eventually the carrier arrived at 4.30pm. I made up for no gardening by starting to clean my windows. No wonder it is blowing a hooley with a storm and rain forecast for later.
Just half an hour this afternoon, refilled bird feeders, emptied the kitchen compost bin into the bigger garden one, cut down the greenhouse tomatoes and added the debris ditto and picked the possibly last raspberries - all 3 of them!
That must have been very frustrating @Joyce Goldenlily. No doubt we'll get your storm within the next four hours, it was quite blowy earlier.

I've been there and I know how bittersweet a move can be. I hope your move goes well and you love your new house, even if it takes a while to get used to.
New England, USA
Metacomet soil with hints of Woodbridge and Pillsbury
Went to a committee meeting and then shopping. wet and windy all day. Worse to come today. I am hoping to get the dog's walk in before it gets too bad. It is already dark and drizzling. I did pick some greenish tomatoes yesterday, they are ripening off in the conservatory.
