Too soggy for much, but after a bit of pruning and cutting up of a wheelbarrow full of Winter pruning and my garden bin is full, ready for the first collection of the year!
I must be more organised with composting this year so my garden bin isn’t constantly full!

A lovely day, plenty of sunshine and no wind, which made a nice change.
Dug up and moved a Galega, potted up Pheasant grass seedlings and also dug up a whole load of viola oderata which was rapidly taking over.

Pruned hypericum. Very tempting to prune today shrubby salvias and penstemon but l am resisting !

Greenhouse is all cleared out waiting for seed sowing to start and plug plants to begin arriving next month.

Good day in garden , planted Camellia & plant with no name ( it had cracked the pot ) in new extended bed
Put some bone meal down and lots of little jobs
No rain but the sky looked a bit black at times

Going to allotment tomorrow if weather ok

Beautiful sunny day. I've cut down a very overgrown winter jasmine and will dig out its roots later. They had started to push over a retaining slab - my fault, I'd just leant it against the bank. Might grow a Group 3 short clematis in its place if I can find one.

I have taken a liking to my new last year ( not what it said on the box) group 3 clematis Arabella @Lizzie27 a mid toned purple small but prolific flowering clematis. It already has 3" growth on it, even though its been wet and cold for months.

Thanks for that @purplerallim - I've just twisted my son's arm and instead of a postal bouquet which he usually sends me,  asked for a garden voucher instead - just the ticket for a new clematis!

It was a lovely day but a hairdresser's appointment followed by a brief dog walk on Par Sands was enough for me, did not feel brilliant. It is dry again today so far, hallelujah!
It really bugs me when the sun is shining and I cannot get outside.
Found a dozen free-range eggs left on my doorstep this morning. All sorts of colours and sizes, the new young adults are just beginning to lay so their first eggs are always small. I have to water test them as they are randomly laid in the hedges so I never know how old they are, some have to be binned, chooks are very good at hiding their eggs. Some can be rather "ripe" when eventually found.

Ha! @Joyce Goldenlily I cleaned out my large hen house Sunday afternoon (I've got pekin bantams) and found one Gold Partridge sat.  Lifted her up and there was a newly hatched chick underneath.  I quickly removed her, the chick,  and the other 4 eggs into a small house/run in the shed.  Doing well, but no more hatchings as yet.

Did some pruning & weeding and decided to leave the rest until it's much dryer, so the front grass didn't get cut either. I want to give the daisies and self-heal a fighting chance to get going in the lawn, so maybe tomorrow.

I’ve just come back in from a pruning frenzy - a few shrubs needed a tidy before I leave the hedge-y-borders quiet for the birds.

No frogspawn yet - I wonder if they are trying out next door’s new pond instead 🤔

The more I do…the more I find to do, particularly at this time of year.
