Sharpened the mower blade and cut the grass, watered furiously, laid on the day bed designing a new little bed (this is clearly gardening and even required an ice cream to help my mental capacity 🤣🤣). Cleared more damaged leaves from the cardoons, think it's a good year for them some are up to 7ft already. Tried to tame some hardy geraniums that are totally swamping a trachycarpus fortune. Cooked pizzas outside and play wrestled with boys, this isn't gardening but is great fun 😀😀😀

Deadheaded roses, fed cannas, clematis and perennials pots.  Cleared duck and blanket weed from the pond.  Tomorrow need to feed and tie in the climbing roses.

I have been in work, so only watering for me today but I came home and OH had dug up a massive clump of sedge that I had mentioned getting rid of the other day. A nice surprise, as I was dreading that task!

Back to work proper today so not much. In garden for 5 turned a compost bin and did some weeding, we suddenly have a rash of geum urbanum 😭😭😭 I've taken out more than 20 plants now, think they've arrived in a freebie but they are suddenly everywhere. Put a collection of cardboard (I bring home all cardboard from work) in the bin to soak ready for mowing and adding to the compost.

Did more watering, admired my new roses and tied in a very thorny climbing rose onto it's trellis. Cut down a Trachelosperum which has never grown well (wrong place) on the same trellis fence near another rose so I've now got to work out how to dig up the roots without damaging the rose.

We spent an hour or two this morning just watering and again this evening.  In between I planted out some well established squash plants, potted on Basil and Thyme herbs and watched the birds and other insects enjoying the garden.

First real chance in the garden today, but won't be doing much as hubby now has my bug, so I suppose it will be a week of looking after him.
Did spend an hour watering as everything is bone dry ( didn't like to upset hubby but he didn't water the garden enough and I have lost a few bedding plants. ) The veg seem ok , so a good soaking will do them good. Now to catch up on a weeks housework, even though I couldn't stand for more than 10 mins without the calves shaking. 🙄
