Finished removing the 'small pile' of builders detritus that I formed whilst digging out the corner of the back lawn. MPC and horse manure has replaced the crud so it should be a nice spot for a TBC now ;)

The 'big pile' will have to wait..... :(

@Gardengirl.. maybe a bed of aggregate/gravel could be an alternative to cement to bed a few slabs on?

Gravel might actually be beneficial in that it provides increased surface area to contain water until it soaks away. I put down a decent bed of aggregate around my raised beds as there tends to be a lot of lie-water there and am very pleased with the improvement compared to grass/bark chippings. Have a few small slabs dropped on to kneel on.

No gardening but the compost bin got a big contribution from all the peelings. It's definitely giving off some heat since I started doing it (relatively) properly a few months ago :)

@Biglad all composting is "proper" it's plant material rotting down how it gets there doesn't matter 😃.

I got 5mins to try out my new Japanese hand shears and pruning saw, had to be left handed due to my crooked right hand but it was great to do ANYTHING. Not enjoying my enforced gardening rest I got a great set of wolf garten attachments I wanted to test out.

How are the fingers @ Wilderbeast? Must be so sore and awkward having to use your left hand. Do you know how long they are going to take to heal and you can start to garden again?

@Lizzie27 the fingers are mending, I get funny electric shocks that make me jump apparently it's the wound healing around the nerves that does it. I had the dressings changed on Xmas Eve and I was quite amazed the doc has worked miracles they are going to look almost normal. Time scale unknown and depends on no infections and the bone healing well.

Went out today and very gingerly did some left hand pruning of the apple tree, only 5 minutes but it's was like sweet nectar for the soul being out gardening
