Just been out planting leeks, I'm a bit confused if I'm too early with them. Garden is looking better after the mass watering last weekend. Plenty of plants to get planted out in the beds but that's for another day.
Just finished planting up a delivery from Thompson and Morgan ( offer from a gardeners world mag) of six each plugs of Echinea primadonna rose, Verbina Buenos Aires , Delphinium blue and white bee, Danthus rocking red, Salvia salvatore blue, and Achilla cerise queen. All look quite healthy, even though the packaging was a little flimsy and they came snail mail.
I have just received a similar bundle. Are the Savia Salvatore Blue hardy? I can't find a clear answer. My bundle was as yours plus 6 other varieties and all are looking good. I buy from T&M expecting some wastage but the price is so good its well justified. I know you responded a year ago so can tell me how you over wintered the Salvia Thanks!
It was all a bit sad really @mandyroberts99 they were the free ones that came with my order of Penstemon and Salvia. ( These arrived so late they never got into the ground) But the ones you mentioned went in ( except for a broken delphinium which overwintered in the greenhouse and has now been planted out) All of them stayed in the ground over winter, and are now showing shoots especially the delphinium , danthus and verbina. As for the blue salvatore salvia it has just broken through the ground in places, and as it's been a very hard spring it is hardy.

Thanks, the blue salvatore salvia from another local nursery (much more advanced than T&M) will take their chance next winter in the ground. The babies from T&M will live in pots (over winter in the greenhouse) and be planted in the ground next year. Thank you!
It may take that long for the tiddlers that T&M send out to get big enough to plant. My actual order was so late that they would have been swamped by the plants already in the bed. Unluckily those I picked were half hardy, so my Tahoe and Lake McKenzie in the greenhouse didn't make it.
