No gardening today but I checked on my seed trays and a few have germinated . After all these years it still gives me a kick to see those new seedlings starting to grow.

Managed a mini-gardening session after work today (the joys of working from home on Friday, and longer daylight hours!). Planted, a little late, some Lilium Lady Alice that just arrived. Managed to tuck them in clumps under the protection of some geraniums and achillea. Also potted on some Agastache that arrived root-bound but still a little small to plant out.
Spent a few hours in garden. Still at the tidying stage with most jobs. Pulled a large fern which was growing in a down pipe drain - improvement, for the drain and the fern is re-potted.
Most of my seeds have germinated - always a highlight in the year.
Cut the grass, moved some vinca minor into a shady corner that is looking a bit bare, and finished potting on the perennials from last autumn's seed sowing.

Pricked out come Cosmos Rubenza into pots and potted up some Calibrachoa plugs that arrived. And planted out some ferns. Visited Great Dixter today and came back with a car boot full of plants from their nursery. Lots of planting to do tomorrow!
Potted on my tomato plants, also my aubergines. All sitting up and looking sprightly in the conservatory this morning. When they show signs of growing I will move them into the grown-up plants greenhouse. Have potted up some sickly iris and peony tubers, bought half price at my local GC. Fingers crossed they will resuscitate. The peony has a couple of buds showing near the root so fingers crossed. Have moved my sweetpea seedlings into the greenhouse, hopefully, they are too big to interest the mouse population who dig up the pea seeds to eat. They left me 11 plants out of 40 sowed in the autumn. My own fault as I left them outside instead of keeping them indoors until they had developed stems.
Sowed Cosmos and sunflower seeds, pricked out dahlia seedlings. I have a list of jobs as long as my arm. As fast as l cross one off, another two appear to take it's place. It takes a great effort not to get sidetracked 🙄.
Sowed some more seeds, took some cuttings of a Convolvulus sabatius that had survived the winter in a half-basket, and dug up half a green bin full of spanish bluebells from in amongst other things. Knackered now!
