Not as such but had to dig away the impacted soil on the edge of the road towards the ditch to stop the water spreading towards our house. Sorted through the apples and had quite a few on their way out so put out into the orchard for the birds...and foxes.
I also planted out a load of birdsfoot trefoil that I've been growing in pots all year, into the edge of my meadow area. I was amazed how big a root system they have for such small plants.
I've barely noticed this plant in the past, but summer of 2021 it just popped up everywhere; by the road, in pastures, near parking lots...no matter where I looked it was there. I don't know if our recent droughts had anything to do with it suddenly being so abundant and widespread, but I love it. It's so cheery!
New England, USA
Metacomet soil with hints of Woodbridge and Pillsbury
Done a few little jobs in garden this morning as it wasn’t raining Emptied a big pot with dead winter pansies in , compost in a bucket for taking up to allotment Cut some Ivy back that grows up the apple tree and a few other jobs The ground is so wet
Planted up the last of my daffs & tulips in pots, picked up the pile of leaves I’d swept into a corner of the patio a couple of weeks ago & cleared the leaves from my pots and 2 small troughs they look much tidier now. I’ve collected the leaves into an old compost bag to store away & hope to make leaf mould.
I'm really struggling to get anything done at the moment, I work a 9-5 so dark early mornings and dark when I get home. It seems to be almost constantly raining where I am in the south wales valleys, and my shed is an absolute tip that needs a good sort so I cant even get in there to do anything. I feel like I'm going to get to spring thoroughly un-prepared, as has happened the last few years, and I was planning to be much more prepared and proactive this year! Doh!. please tell me I'm not alone! lol
