    @REMF33
    My dwarf ones failed last year, and as I said the French climbing went mad ( didn't help that I wasn't up to much gardening all summer, and had to rely on the hubby,  who is not a gardener but great at the heavy stuff) still we did ok. This year that bed has Strawberries in it, already in flower, 🤷‍♀️  My first round of 8 seeds in root trainers have only produced two french beans, so it looks like a second sowing/and or direct will be in order this year. Wouldn't mind but it's new seed!

    Thanks @Slow-worm it's very nice... but will be even better when it's cold.

    Regards the tidy house... I think the garden and greenhouse wins hands down 😗
    Fair comment.. when my last horse died, a friend asked what I'd do with the spare time, I said "tidy my house." A month later, the garden was looking great.. 😄

    Planted some spare strawberry plants I had laying around.
    Potted up some lobelia in a chimney pot, hope there's no more frost 😬

    Have started on the great greenhouse clearout, ready for the tomatoes and cucumbers.  The carrots and beetroot are progressing under the closhe,  and the spring onions are too in the greenhouse. As its getting down to 2° still in there, its too early for the tom plants, probably in a couple of weeks we will plant them out.

    Productive morning. I've mowed the lawns, added the grass to the compost heap. I then dug out the active heap into a couple of huge sacks and then put it back in in reverse so that it got a complete turn. Had it up to 60°C for a couple of days this week!

    OH has set up the capillary matting in both the greenhouse & cold-frame so the bedding seedlings, sweet-peas, tomatoes & chillies can be left to fend for themselves for a few days now.

    I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful

    OH scarified the front lawn following the advice from the Green Thumb man yesterday, a bit late in the season but either he's been too busy or it's been too wet - as it is now, just got the job done in time.

    I nipped out at lunchtime and potted up 5 plug plants of Petunia tidal wave red velour that were delivered this morning. One of the plants that have been going for several years did survive the winter but it's not looking too happy and there's not much there to take cuttings from so I decided to invest in some new ones.
