Done quite a bit over the last two days. Prepared the bed for the May sowing of carrot and beetroot,  just added a bag of top soil as been covered all winter, and not a weed in sight.
Hubby made, painted black, and hung a fan trellis,  to which we planted ( with its partner on other side of bay window) Mrs George Jackman clematis,  a white one.
In the area that the flamingo willow was removed from, we weeded, added new soil/compost and planted a variegated holly a cutting from one we left behind at last house, two white Dicentra and a rose cutting now two years old.
Transplanted a native holly that had self seeded, plus more weeding. Potted on four sweet peas, two Dahlia and a hot lips salvia. 🥵

Good job tidying the shed. It’s shamed me into probably doing mine this week.
  • Had my first real day in the garden today and got a fair bit done…

    > cut the grass
    > pulled all the weeds out the pots
    > planted a clematis into the ground to go with the obelisk i got last year that was too wide for the intended pot
    > planted two roses in the flowerbed
    > pulled the dead shrub up and planted a new one
    > mulched the flowerbed

all in all a decent day for me

It seriously needed doing, I couldn't even step one foot inside
I’ve no idea what I’m doing.
  • Since Friday, I planted new purchases (a variety of cottage garden plants that I bought at Bampton Garden Centre £6 each), a Wisteria (OH wanted to give it a try), and some of my own-grown like Cerinthe and Cosmos. If the Cerinthe plants don't make it, I have another 5 in reserve. I also planted the window box, but they are in the greenhouse over night. I gave the marrow a try, and it's under a cloche over night. I have two other marrows in reserve if it fails.
I just managed to do the shed yesterday, when it started raining again. I don't know what weather you have, but here in the NE of Wiltshire, the ground is soaked. The forecast says rain every day in the next 2 weeks and the same temperature of around 14 degrees over the day.

    I my garden.

I moved my grown up onion seedlings out of the greenhouse to harden off, they don't really need it and moved some of the tender seedlings from the conservatory into the greenhouse.
Finally planted my first early potatoes.
Was going to throw out two geranium plants, until I discovered they both have live root balls. Dilemma. Is it worth the cosseting and waiting time to repot them and see if they put on any growth?
