My itchy fingers have been satisfied. I sat in the conservatory today, under a blanket of thick snow on the roof, and sowed a packet of sweetpeas, some red onions, an experiment as they are supposed to be mould resistant, and some Bedfordshire Giant Onions to follow on from the globe onions I sowed in the autumn that are now around 6 ins tall and looking great. The seeds were sown in pots of compost that has been waiting in the conservatory for several weeks, I covered them with Perlite, other brands available, which I fancifully imagine as a translucent duvet to keep the seeds warm but let some light through, then topped them off with mini greenhouses covering them. Clear plastic food pots and trays. I also moved my lemon tree inside, after knocking off the snow piled up on its branches. I am relieved I had already moved my mulberry tree into the greenhouse a few days ago.
Hello , no snow hear in Lincolnshire , however , very cold 🥶, greenhouse went down to minus 3-6 last night and today it not got above 1-00 degree , ground solid Was planning on going to allotment tomorrow but ?
Another cold and frosty night, no snow fortunately. I got out this morning and swept the courtyard and drive as best I could, although some leaves were frozen to the paving. As we're having a new boiler fitted today, figured it might be warmer outside doing something physical than sitting indoors freezing!
Hello , rather than allotment decide to cut up a load of wood for the fire 🔥 G/H only went to minus 3-1 last night and in the sun it’s 8 degrees , however , more frosts/freezing weather coming
What an absolutely glorious day yesterday. A very chilly wind in the shade but sunshine and blue sky all day. "Wasted it" taking the dog for a walk along a local beach, topped up my suntan for a few minutes, sitting on a rock watching a flat calm sea. Lovely after the stormy beach walk we did a few days ago. The sea was not blue but nor was it grey and foaming with anger like it was last week. No gardening.
It’s a beautiful day here, too, today. Lovely blue sky, clear and calm but still very frosty. The ground is too hard to do any gardening, but it is so nice to see the spring bulbs beginning to pop through, very cheering.

I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful
