Emptied a large tub of its contents, cleaned it out and refilled with general peat-free compost. Lots of it . Planted up with some mimulus plants chosen by my OH from the GC today. She chooses, I pay, and do the work. She says it's a fair apportionment of the work.
Also repotted a chrysanthemum. The terracotta pot from whence it came broke in two in the process. A timely move.
The pansies chosen by my OH will have to wait until tomorrow, as will the rest of the mimulus plants.
Our trip out also netted us new terracotta pots, and more of the horticultural grit. I'll need to return to B&Q for more compost now.
and today before the rain came...we sowed outdoors mooli seeds (having weeded before. Hoed between the broad beans and pea plants. Watered the sprouts (looking very dry) before the rain. Then watered the seeds in the polytunnel and sowed some seeds from our morning glory plants last year. We seem to be so far behind this year but hopefully catching up. Actually harvested some radishes for lunch which we sowed on the same row as parsnips. Great but not a sign of the parsnips.
I needed the space in the window for the flag and yesterday was the day to bring the chilli plants into the greenhouse. After taking out the "hardening off" plants, I cleaned everything again, and brought my 11 chilli plants down. They are between 2 and 3 foot high now and have many green chillies already. While standing in front of the greenhouse and seeing the clean bottom from the propagators, I thought, "not as clean as Shep's ones, but they are okay"
Major clear out, clean, and prep in the greenhouse for the tomatoes and cucumbers, they are desperate to get out of the conservatory, if they had legs they'd walk!😆
Weeded in the polytunnel (again) and transplanted some cucumbers. Sowed some cornichons and kohl rabi in pots. Planted out dwarf french beans and weeded the peas and broad bean rows. Refound the path in the spinney!
Finished weeding the shady bed and planted Foxgloves in there. Planted out sweet peas, with plenty of sand and wool surrounding and some sacrificial Marigolds between (plus a few spares) as the slugs will really be celebrating Bank Holiday with those! I’ve made up a few little pots of Pelargoniums and treated myself to a Erysimum ‘Artists Goghs Gold’ for my border with the hotter colours. Early summer is pink, tangerine and yellow and then deeper oranges appear with Heleniums and (hopefully) Cosmos.
I’ve also done some jobs like clearing leaves and humus from around the shed and tidying my potting corner.
Needless to say, a good scrub is required this evening, and probably pain killers!

I ♥ my garden.
Everything in the greenhouse is thriving, so really need the weather to warm up so I can get planting.
