Constant bathroom trips are very draining @Joyce Goldenlily and I can sympathise with the low energy levels, it sucks. I have found that higher protein slows me down, but it also tends to go too far, so it's a roller coaster ride.🙄
Thanks for the sympathy. I am keeping an eye on how the eggs are affecting me.
I too am on Lansoprazole, have been for a few years now @Lizzie27 I did after my op try without, it was a disaster, so looks like I'm on them for life.
Hi LIzzie, I am on Lansoprazole, which does not seem to be helping me. I am taking a chance on the raw eggs as at least they give me a few hours break, Have been wondering whether to try Complan. My concern is my loss of electrolytes, minerals, trace elements, etc. Using my neighbours home reared, free range chicken eggs has been interesting. One with a lovely blue shell had a huge yolk and almost no albumen, yesterday I was given a massive egg, almost the size of a duck egg, poor chicken I thought. When I broke it open it was a double yolk. Anything with roughage is a disaster for me at the moment. I have just been fighting with my second attempt at giving a sample. You have to write on a miniscule label stuck onto the very small container, your name, DOB and the date. I tried using 3 different biros but none would write properly on the label. I have resorted to putting my details on a separate piece of paper and wrapping it around the container. Why is nothing straightforward? Fingers crossed this attempt is not disallowed. Am off to hand it in before 12.00. I am so bored with this game!
@Joyce Goldenlily, poor you. I agree with you about the small sample containers, they are a right nuisance. It occurs to me to ask whether or not you have tried Immodium? I find it very good to stop an attack quickly and might give you some respite. Other than that the only other thing I can think of is to suggest consulting your pharmacist if you have one in the village. They will probably be able to suggest a suitable supplement drink/rehydration drink to replace lost nutrients. I was a bit taken aback yesterday when ours rung out of the blue to enquire how I was coping with the prescribed blood thinners, emphasized I could ring them any time for help and said she would ring back in two weeks. I wondered if this is a new initiative between Gov, NHS and Pharmacies to take some of the pressure off the NHS?
Hi Lizzie, I have tried a Boots own remedy which definitely helped, think I might try it again. The Dr. asked me to stop using it when the tests were being done in case it masked the symptoms. When I took my latest contribution in to the surgery yesterday I asked if they had to redo many of this type of test. The receptionist said Yes so I didn't feel quite such a wally. I agree, something has gone on between the pharmacists and Drs. I have been very impressed with the helpfulness of the pharmacy I use when trying to sort out the repeat prescriptions for my tablets. I am so glad I changed surgeries. The one I am with now is so much better, quicker and much more pleasant in manner.
I was away for two weeks last month and the only way I managed the long drive and eating away was with Immodium melts. They slowed everything down so I could cope. Will use again for long car trips I think.
As for nhs/gp's/ pharmacy I think it depends where you are. My friend in Nottinghamshire is well looked after by all three, here in Lincolnshire its bad it takes a week to order meds ( on repeat) Dr appointment takes three weeks for a phone call, and hospital appointment over a year ( mine will be two years they think)
I’ve done some cuttings today. I couldn’t get any perlite or grit in the GC so have ‘silver sand’. Not tried it before so hope it’s ok - I’ve done a 50:50 sand:compost mix.
I’ve done some bramble-bashing in the wild/unkempt spot at the back of the garden. Punnet of blackberries collected!
I made more plants from 'cuttings' (dropped off trimmings shoved in willy nilly). I had a really good take-rate kinsidrin! Some silvery variegated lonicera nitida, a tiny rowan seedling from under the kitchen window sill, two white geranium seedlings from neighbour's gravel and some hypericum from all over my own gravel. Gonna need a bigger flowerbed.

I need to water the pots after dinner as it's been so warm today.
