Cleared empty tubs from last year out of greenhouse and cleaned said greenhouse ready for the season. Next will lay new membrane and get started with transplanting sweet peas into final tubs ready to go out in better weather. Helped hubby build raised bed no1, then rain and lunch stopped play.🙂

OH cleared out greenhouse and power washed it for me  <3
Emptied out pots of bulbs and sorted. MIL had given me a euonymus to look at as it was looking very sick. As l suspected, l found vine weevil grubs. My friendly blackbird had a few, and the rest are now in the green waste bin. Greenhouse now looks ready to go ! Moved pots of tulips from behind greenhouse. Dead headed more daffodils, might go round weeding this pm.
  • I tied up some of the new growth on the clematis's, planted out four clumps of borage which had been growing in the field and are now on our wildflower plot, some of the established borage in the field is already flowering. OH hoed loganberries, straws and blackcurrants giving them blood fish and bone too. I also sowed another tray of beetroot and potted up some cherry tomato seedlings.

I planted the second euronymus in a bare patch in the hedge and cut back the old growth on the gauras. All set to do big planting session but was rained off - very frustrating.  Gave away an old window and shower screen for allotment use on Freecycle.

Came back from looking at green houses. Have to grow my fruit in large pots as we have clay heavy dark grey clay. This afternoon I levelled the ground, laid a weed membrane down then move 6 60 cm very heavy slabs and put the tubs on them, dug over the area where the slabs were in the hope OH doesn't notice. I then decided to cut the wood to size for the fruit cage. Did a little weeding Having a rest now.

Ended up digging out a shrubby salvia " Midnight" and some crocosmia "George Davidson" to make room for a new rose. Salvia had spread quite a bit, OH gave me a hand in the end. Managed to get some rooted bits of the salvia and some crocosmia potted up. Time for tea, and half of a hot cross bun. Pretty shattered. Gawd, l wish l was 30 again, or even 40 !

Sowed cherry toms and mini sweetcorns today for windowsill germination. I couldn’t find my little tomato module strip anywhere?! Maybe it fell apart last year - I did have a cull. Oh well, I have sown a packet of toms and a dozen baby corns for now. I was initially a bit miffed that only 18 tomato seeds in the packet - but I suppose if only half make it to potting on, I still have plenty for me plus give-always. I might do another round of the corn next month, when I do the peas and beans.
My garden and I live in South Wales.

Only did just over an hour on Allotment before the rain came again. After lunch did a bit of laurel pruning & had a hack at NDN honeysuckle which invades over the fence. Might start sowing some bits in greenhouse if the weather really does pick up.

I also "looked" in the greenhouses, and opened the doors, does that count!  I have really bad tendonitus in both hands, so really behind with everything garden related, normally a long further along by now.  Did pot on some (new) rhododendrons yesterday, and a blueberry for my Daughter, potted on 10 poppies, watered greenhouses, conservatory, then  was in agony!

That's terrible, what treatment are you having?
