Very wet so went to the GC , three more trays, bf&b some compost for potting on. The plants were calling to me so ended up with two colours of variegated primroses and a variegated leaf tulip red robin I think. Then looked at the fruit trees and decided on a cherry , sunburst ready for the end of the veg patch.

OH pruned the largest of the hydrangeas this morning and I repotted some of the young plants with roots pushing through the base of small pots that I had sown last Autumn.  I will be potting up cucumber and tomato seedlings this coming week, perhaps a few dahlia seedlings too (Bishops Children).

I've managed two mornings on the trot, doing jobs in the back garden before play called off due to rain.

@islander, it occurred to me this morning when recollecting you had told us the flower pot on the gatepost had blown off, that you could try securing an old metal hanging basket (if you can lay your hands on one) to the top of the gatepost (with a screw/staple/wire/nails etc). With a liner in it, you could then plant it up and hopefully the plants would stay put?
    Just a thought

Nothing for me either today but will go to allotment tomorrow as I have more seedlings I want to move to cooler poly tunnel from home to stop them going to leggy and slow them down a bit.

I usually go to Ruskington GC, but yesterday it was Belton House GC. I also have a look what Pennals, Whisby, and Scothern have in bedding plants in April/May time. Belton is good for fruit trees and Rose's, Ruskington for veg and slightly different bedding. Whisby is going downhill in choice and quality. Where do you go @GWRS.🙂
