Spent four hours at the allotment planted more cauliflowers, Chines lanterns, antirrhinums, cosmos, bronze fennel's all grown from seed.
Also started to lay down weed membrane and wood chips for the show pumpkins, I'm growing just two plants in an old bath this year filled with old horse manure and a few secret ingredients as they trail over the side they will lay on the bark chips and I will select one maybe two fruits on each plant.
Watered plot and polly tunnel, tied in tomatoes and cucumbers.
Rain is forecast for the early hours till about mid morning tomorrow 🤞🤞

I hate sticky weed! Not that keen on nettles either (but got my own back as they are chopped and bagged for 'tea'), then digging up dock! But I finally managed to liberate a palette from the end of the garden and install it under the squash plants which are going mad.
Planted out dill, caraway, parsley and burnet and the next lot of peas. Sorted the compost bin but was defeated by broccoli which went on the big heap as I couldn't cut it up - probably would have needed a saw.
Now I need a cup of tea......

Dashed out between heavy showers and started to tidy up the courtyard and put pots back after new fence erected yesterday. Lots of mud everywhere! Measured up for small retaining structure where I dug the bank out. Think I'm going to use left over bits of decking board screwed to short posts with membrane behind.
Went to a garden show yesterday and got soaked in rain wet feet though trainers, bought some easy fill basket stands, long tree pole cutter and had a look around some interesting bags of shopping from others loads of sambucus plant walking about
Going to show tomorrow for another day wearing wellies this time as sure the field will be muddy and boggy from more rain today hoping to get some flowering plants
Sounds good GardenGirl, rather wish I could go too. I did some more work on my bin store area, putting the posts in and putting the Terram (heavy duty root proof stuff) down and up behind the posts to stop any soil from slipping down.
Spent the morning sawing and chopping an old apple tree (finally gave out in the heavy rain yesterday). Hoping to do something more constructive than destructive tomorrow. Veg has loved the rain though.
We've had loads of rain here over the last few days, water butt is full and the garden looking lush. Need it to go away for a bit now so I can get out there and do some jobs.
Put a couple of Marquee ground stakes in to support the rose obelisks. They are tilting a bit after the strong winds and rain. Did a bit of deadheading and tying in before the dark clouds drove me indoors.
