  • Removed some dead foliage from around a few perennials, pruned a few bits from apples trees and generally tidied up. OH painted the first coat on our lovely red bench.
  • @Wilderbeast I garden the same way. If my over-exuberance kills them, I figure they aren't hardy enough for me ;)

Took advantage of some sunshine (in spite of a chilly wind), gathered up more bits of scattered miscanthus,  cut back Michaelmas daisies, did some weeding. Having to watch my step as the bulbs are starting to really make their presence felt.
    OH cut the grass.

In January blimey! if I put a mower on my grass at the moment it would sink & it's not that heavy :D

  • Pruned some ivy pelagoniums in a sheltered position, also some summer flowering jasmine. Had a visit from a lovely lady who advised on our partially dying camellia.  A trip to the garden centre for a camellia tonic is on the list.

Hubby trimmed back some more of the holly. I took some cuttings from it.

@Allotment Boy, yesterday he used the lightweight electric mower on the bit round the side of the house and the back garden where it's more shady.  Today the petrol mower has been used on the front lawn where it's in full sun. It seems to have survived !
I have been potting up mini narcissi from Morrisons (£1 per pot) for the trough by front door.

I took some cuttings of my golden king/queen? holly @Logan4 when we moved house. Four years later I have two that survived and are 18" tall now, so are very slow growing.🙂

If the grass ever dries out a bit , it could do with a cut , surprised how long it is
  • @AnniD your soil obviously dries out a lot faster than mine, front and back could do with a cut but will have to wait a while longer.
