That is sad to hear @Mary370. I hope you have some wonderful memories of your dog, which can go some way to easing the hurt and loss you must be feeling. Look after yourself.

Found out how expensive bamboo is so no rustic trellis for me.
I thought about the chicken wire and left over takeaway chopsticks I have for a while...
Decided that the world doesn’t deserve that particular abomination.

So sorry to read about the loss of your dog. @Mary370  They are such faithful companions around the house and the garden.
A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

A very warm day, not a cloud in the sky this afternoon.
Planted up the last hanging basket with "Trillion Bells",  pricked out cornflowers and sunflower "Choco sun". Sowed some sunflower "Soleil". Potted up trough that goes by the front door (more "Trillion Bells"). Tided up crocosmia that l lifted and potted up last week, and watered some geums that are definitely suffering.  Oh, for some rain ☔.

20 tomatoes (10 different varieties) planted out into the 'tomato greenhouse' today.  I swore I was going to grow fewer this year, too!  I still have more than a dozen spare so will try those outside in a couple of weeks (if I can find any spare ground!)  I might plant just one spare Sungold into the other greenhouse so I have some 'sweeties' to nibble on for when I'm 'working' in there. :)  It hit 30C here today, outside in the shade;  Phew!
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

BobTheGardener , o/h usually gets to many tomato 🍅 plants as well but can usually plant them in allotment , last year those outside at allotment did better than those in g/h , the way it goes sometimes

Raised bed filled up as much as it’s going to be. Glad to finally get to this stage 😅
On the W/e I will fashion a trellis and hopefully get to the fun bit in planting out what I have.
Ooh and the 3rd squash I thought was a no show has roots coming out the bottom so I assume it will be making an appearance very soon:

So that’s 6/6 for the squash and tomatoes I planted 😊. I will offer spares to the rest of the road.
I know the tomatoes are late because of all the massive tomato plants I’ve been seeing for weeks on the forum. It’s all a learning curve so I will know for next year 🤞🏽.

It's really hot here today.  Got most of the gardening done early today.  Dug up and split 3 huge carex that had got out of hand.  Planted smaller pieces back, hope they survive. Also got rid of loads of daff foilage that had died off and cleared some more overgrown plants from the pond.  Did a bit of deadheading and sat in the shade eating ice cream to recover.
