My beetroot this year was very poor, the taste was terrible in some and the shape was also very wrong. I found a Charles Dowding video and he was showing his beetroot and they looked just like mine. Poor germination was also a problem I had with lots of seeds.

Planted tulips, dug up veronica and cleared more leaves.

Well I moved some bricks from around my veg area and I was going to mow up a load of composting material, rather stupidly I had a fight with the mower blade and am now missing 2 finger ends 😭😭😭😭 me thinks gardening may take a back seat for a good while
  • 😱 oh @Wilderbeast that's awful, you poor thing.
  • Oh @Wilderbeast 😲 You are as bad as my hubby, he has just broken his shoulder , for the second time in three years. Both of you need wrapping in bubble wrap for your own protection @Wilderbeast

Thanks @bullfinch currently feelinike a very silly boy 😭😭😭 Mrs Wilderbeast was very concerned when I called her, the panic really set in when she realised she would have to cook Christmas dinner 🤯🤯
  • Oh dear @Wilderbeast I have had some scrapes over the years but thankfully I've never done that.
I managed a trip to the Allotment today,  pruned  the BlackBerry luckily it's a thorn less variety so no problem with injuries.

@Wilderbeast , sorry to hear about your accident , take care and have a restful Christmas
Had a good day at allotment today , main job was getting bark chippings for paths from huge pile in car park , as ever did a few other jobs .
Did dig up some leeks & horseradish

@Wilderbeast, ouch, sorry to hear about your accident, sounds like the kind of mishap I seem to be prone to. Hope it's not actual tops of fingers? Does Mrs Wilderbeast not cook?
I cleared the rockery of all the small birch leaves, a 'on your knees' job which is a bit tedious, especially with gravel underneath. There are small bulbs coming up and hellebores in bud.
