Carried on with weeding today.  One bed is particularly infected with greater celandine so got to grips with that and cut back the old stems on the rudbeckia and a few other things. Watered it all well and am planning on getting some soil improver from the GC tomorrow to put down a mulch.  Pulled some old stems off the Aster frikartii Monch and a couple of shoots came away with one of them so sharpened up my knife and took cuttings as instructed by Monty. Hope they take because it would be nice to have more of those.

Finished the mulching the other day, more tidying,  seed sowing in the greenhouse while OH watered.  It's so dry, and this cold wind doesn't help, we really need rain.

Planted out 50 campanula pyramidalis, weeded out a load of bitter cress and dandelions. Sowed 25 each of blood orange and bright yellow hellianthus. Need to get on with more seed sowing. I now have 5 strong rows of parsnips, I was convinced they wouldn't germinate after hearing  people have such problems.

Far too early for Morning Glories to be out, even in the South. They really need temps. of no lower than 10C.

Lots of outdoor painting to do so husband continued painting the house and I made a start on the patio walls. A Farmer Gracy order is due tomorrow so will be busy planting bulbs in the coming days.

Moved a ton of gravel from my top border (next door wanted it so that was convenient). Dug up LOTS of roots from three small trees that had been cut down about seven years ago (by the previous previous owners) but the roots left and then covered with membrane and gravel.

Dug and forked the soil as it was all flat and compacted.

Used two bags of leaf compost and normal compost as a sprinkle and fork in thing.

Just got to find some plants for it now as it’s a tad bare.

Lots of aching muscles I didn’t know I had.

I potted up two Lantana 'Bandana Rose' for my rear gated driveway entrance.  https://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/159965/.  I also transferred my King Tut Sweet Pea seedlings to their final hanging basket liner pots.  Can't wait until I feel it's safe to start hardening them off.  They are currently about 11" long.  https://www.etsy.com/listing/187116886/king-tut-blue-sweet-pea-lathyrus-sativus?ga_order=most_relevant

Shifted a great heap of tree surgeon mulch into the garden after tea, it's covering the ground around the new greenhouse and veg beds
