Fingers crossed indeed @Wilderbeast! That’s great to hear that you have been stitched and sorted. Hope it’s not too sore.
My garden and I live in South Wales.
  • Ah well the weather is no good for gardening anyway,  so rest & recovery  is the best.
I managed to water the mizuna in the greenhouse, & the orchids in the house- not sure that really constitutes gardening though  :D

@Allotment Boy , definitely classed as gardening 😉
  • Glad to hear that most of the fingers are still there @Wilderbeast hope you heal well and fast.
Those compost bins will have to look after themselves for a while.😁

    Morning all.
I feel your pain @Wilderbeast. Many years ago i cut the tip off my index finger on a bandsaw. Luckily they managed to save it and sewed it back on. Like you, i was laughing after it happened. The pain didn't start until the next day. The stupid nurse put the dressing on the wrong way (shiny side out) so my finger healed into the cotton wool side. It was agony all over again when the dressing came off two weeks later, taking most of the skin with it!  :)

The plan is to move a Rhodie today. I prepared an area for it yesterday, and just hope the rootball isn't too big.

@Balgay.Hill indeed humour is my 1st thought when I do something stupid. If it doesn't get infected then it should mend quickly and I won't a grumpy old man anymore
  • It's not quite gardening, but I'm doing well with the Christmas Microveg, and the ox tongue is getting pressed today.

Been in garden cutting wood for fire 🔥
    Had a look in g/h , lettuce 🥬 & aubergine 🍆 has had it
  • Planted whitecurrant and redcurrant bare root bushes today.  They've gone into areas under fruit trees which I'd mulched with home-made compost and planted crocuses into a few weeks ago, so had to carefully move a few of those first.  It was a good job I labelled the areas when planting..  It was also nice to see them actually still there and growing shoots and roots rather than being in the bellies of the local squirrels!
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
