@Lizzie27 top of index and middle finger from knuckle up are looking very special indeed, I may have new nickname of "stumpy" plastic surgery dept tomorrow but they are rather sceptical they can save them.
Mrs Wilderbeast doesn't cook she bakes and is fantastic at that but struggles with cooking a fish finger 😭😭 (I don't know what the difference is between cooking and baking) my boys are threatening to move in with Grandma if I can't cook 🤣.
Oh it will be next year before he goes back for an xray to see how its going @GWRS ,so lots of one handed helping and my putting on his socks over Christmas.🙄😄
@AuntyRach for some reason after the 1st minute of panic humour set in, a neighbour took me to Hull royal hospital a 40 minute drive and he thought I was going crackers as I sat laughing and joking all the way. I very quickly realised that I could so easily have lost my entire fingers or even hand so a couple of short fingers is nothing 🤯.
It's the middle of the night and sleep won't come, ordinarily I'd get up and go do something in the garden but that's a no no
Let us know how it goes today @Wilderbeast. Many people go all ‘jovial’ when they have had an accident - it’s adrenaline. You will sleep better tonight.
How's it going @Wilderbeast? Are you all stitched up yet? I bet it's really sore, you have my sympathy.
Reminds when I nearly sliced my thumb off with a brand new chisel, calmly wrapped it in a clean tea-towel, drove myself to A & E, and made the doc laugh when I explained what I had done.
So thanks to everyone on here and there kind thoughts. The doctors and nurses of Hull royal hospital have done an amazing job. My fingers were proper manky but after 3 hrs of work under a local anesthetic and some 50 odd stitches I have 2 fingers that look almost normal, well a bit shorter and no nails ever again. There's a long way to go and they are worried about infection but fingers crossed 🤣🤣🤣 I'm on the mend. Many thanks to all the NHS staff who once again fixed me up 👏👏👏👏👏
