Chopped up the old wooden table to make way for a new outdoor dining set, it's supposed to be delivered today but I wont hold my breath.  Don't think this really counts as gardening. Did check all the greenhouse plants while I was out there.

Although a cold wind , I’ve been working in the Stream at side of garden and is very sheltered , cut down 3 small trees, trimmed hawthorn hedge and strimmed bank , very pleased with my self
Will need to do some more trimming and also repairs to bank after this winters rains
Did notice lots of holes in far bank , so set up wildlife camera 🎥 I had for Christmas to see if we can see anything, hope it’s not rats 🐀

I checked the runner beans for germination, which they have done, deadheaded all the irises, watered and fed plants in pots on the terrace. Later I got the long hosepipe out and watered the whole of the back garden. I have flowers on strawberries, blackberries and raspberries and small goosegogs appearing!

Emptied 1 ton of bark onto half the garden....I do love how it looks, other half tomorrow......watered seedlings, thus wind is drying pots out very quickly, potted on some seedlings......tired now

My dad said he'd like some of the Miscanthus, so i put some aside for him, and potted up 3 other "best bits" to keep for now. Made a start on cutting back the clematis Montana, got about halfway and that was enough for me for today.

Mowed lawns and edged.  Pruned the camelias and did some weeding and deadheading.  Gave everything a good watering.

Haven't been able to get out in the garden for three days and it's still tipping down with rain. Rose blooms have Botrytis now.   :'(

An afternoon of backbreaking toil, carrying watering cans hither and thither.  Emptied one of my two butts giving all the pots a soaking, then the carrots, beans and potatoes in containers.  Then started digging bindweed rhizomes out of one of my veg beds, the one I plan to put the beets and leeks in.  Got about half of that done, I hope to finish it tomorrow.  I don't know if it will be worth while, I know the bindweed will soon re-invade from next door.
