  • Quick dash to Allotment to get beetroot I forgot yesterday. I cut down the Asparagus while I was there to make the trip worthwhile.

I'm off work having been diagnosed with tennis elbow (never played the wretched sport) however I've pricked out about 200 wildflower seedlings for spring plug plants, gathered all the leaves from the small Paulownia tree, pulled weeds out of the foxglove pots and wandered around with a coffee making the most of the late flowers

Yay! last of the bulbs in this morning.  Not my favourite job but love the results.

    No leaves today :)

Didn't fancy digging in the swamp after the overnight rain, but I might get out later for a mooch.

Not a lot, OH collected more leaves, I took photos of roses still blooming merrily and pruned one of them while I could still reach it.

  • You do crush the peanuts, don't you @GWRS so they don't choke the hogs,  I hope.🦔
I have more flowers in the greenhouse than outside now.😁

  • Volunteer day at Capel manor so quite a busy day today.  Mostly leaf clearing & weeding but got to plant a couple of Skimmias in the afternoon.

I was flagged down by 4 doors down neighbour today, he wondered if I wanted any compost of course I says yes. Turns out he has an old 10 ton corn trailer at the bottom of his garden where for 6 years he's put all his garden waste. By 6 he's knocking on the door having filled 3 wheelie bins full and left them on my drive for me to deal with. It's amazing stuff totally broken down to a fine mix made up mainly of grass and leaves, it's going straight on the beds as a mulch.

That sounds a very welcome gift @Wilderbeast, lucky you, even if it does give you more work. I checked on the current compost bin and topped up with more green stuff, following the shredded paper layer. Amazed to still see the brandling worms in there. I'm assuming it's still warm enough for them because I tied layers of bubble wrap/fleece around it a few months ago. Seems to work.
I've done more leaf clearing, weeding and planting two pink heuchera I'd forgotten about. It's been good weather here, completely different to the forecast, so good to get out.
