Dug up two shrubs that were in the wrong place. Think I'm going to have to bin them as no room left to replant.
Depending on where you are, can you put their roots in bags, label and put out the front? I get eager takers for my things either as passersby or by advertising on Gumtree.

Went outside to check on things after the snow yesterday.  Found I had to chip the ice off the coldframe, and stay off the snow covered grass.
Went into the greenhouse ( a warmer 6° in there) and started to tidy up ready for the season. One bag of rubbish and one of compost ( to use as earthing up potatoes) only half the tubs done, so still plenty to do.

Going to have to water the whole garden as there's been no rain for over a month now (6 weeks I think) and emerging perennials are beginning to struggle.

We have watered the pots and tubs, but the soil is still wet underneath.  The top is very dry and in danger of capping,  the little shower yesterday wasn't enough.  If we don't get rain soon I will be doing the same as  Bob, so I can finish mulching.
Spent time in the greenhouse seed sowing,  really need it to warm up so I can move the over wintered plants outside to make room,  for when all this germinates.

Sowed two more trays of seeds (lobelia and cosmos daydream)  Potted on lots of snapdragons, larkspur and lobelia.  Moved some seedlings out of the conservatory and into the frost free greenhouse.

I’ve done some mulching with the end of the compost from last year - the mixture looks really good. I painted an old open bookcase the other week, with garden paint, thinking to leave by by shed for hardening-off plants etc but I have brought it indoors against a patio door and it houses my seedlings perfectly.
My garden and I live in South Wales.

I usually do that @Cambridgerose12, but I had to cut the tops and roots off to get them out and am not sure they would survive if replanted.

Planted a pampas grass gifted to us by next door, popped it behind the pond next to some drooping sedge. Planted 6 big yellow flag iris plants I ordered, and a few bits round the pond like rudbeckia green wizard and marsh marigold.
Pulled out a huge tub of weeds from around the pond area

fitted Reed screening to boundary fence near the house, nice to get some sunshine today

I had 30 very tiny perennial plug plants delivered from T & M, so sieved the compost, added vermiculite and put a bucket full in the kitchen to warm up before potting on tomorrow. I think I'll use seed trays as they are so very tiny (5cms) rather than individual small pots.

Some general tidying up and pricked digitalis and zinnia seedlings.
But enjoying the tulips and a new composition in a container in shady area (hellebore, bergenia, epimedium, leptinella).

@SophieK—I’d love to know what variety the purple-pink tulip in this photo is...
Hi Cambridgerose12, it's tulip Caravelle for this one :)
