Hooray! House is warming up, boiler is fixed, hopefully. Impossibly tiny pipes to the pressure sensor switch had got blocked with debris so the boiler was getting inaccurate messages from its internal workings. I forgot to thank all those who sent kind and warming thoughts, which were appreciated, and also to Fidget, who sent a possible diagnosis of the problem.
The cat and I were so comfy we had a little snooze after lunch...

Pleased your heating is fixed Liri, not the weather for broken central heating. Moira is not having a good day, has not got out of bed, to be expected I suppose. We have snow forecast for the rest of the week, so it might get interesting.

evening all. I'm feeling very smug. When we came back from hols, our VHS recorder ( insert riotous laughter here ) had lost its memory and wouldn't "auto reset". I've just spend some time fighting with it and IT'S WORKING!!!!!
