Lots of positive vibes heading Steephill’s way 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Remember Simon Mayo from the breakfast show in the eighties. Haven’t listened since, but I like Jo Whiley. The combo of the two obviously didn’t work, but not quite sure why she came in for so much vitriol 😟
Lovely to see the pictures of Monty all scrubbed up for his visit to the palace 🎖
Work done ✅ First SM run done ✅. Second one, for veg etc, will be tomorrow - I’ll don my chainmail. Lots of lovely cards have arrived .....always amazes me that we never get any duplicates.....from cheeky reindeer, to flying santas and snowy mountain scenes 😉. All different, and all with little nuggets of news from old friends that I should see more often, but life (and miles) gets in the way.
Off to London today - meeting my sisters and nieces and going to the lantern trail at London Zoo (animals will be safely tucked up asleep). Will do the tour of the monopoly board to see Oxford Street, Bond Street, Regent Street, and Carnaby Street lights (last one got left out of monopoly - big mistake 🤪). Trains are on strike so will drive to Richmond and tube it from there.
chicky- it was a box ticking exercise having her on his show. Not enough women on prime time Radio 2 apparently. His drivetime show was the best thing on there and they ruined it. I had it on one day and she was off ill, and Liza Tarbuck stood in that day, followed by Paddy O'Connel the next, and what Simon said was very telling, despite his protestations about how great she was. They also changed lots of other things and had some quite embarrassing quizzes etc. Even the music wasn't the same. Huge mistake but no one was backing down about it. I'm with you re the crowd, Hosta. I get panic attacks in crowds as it is, so I wouldn't be within ten miles of it! Marc Almond is now on the news with Jools Holland. How does anyone listen to him - he can't sing five words in tune. I love odd voices, but I can't bear that. My dad used to turn off Harry Secombe every time he appeared on telly for the same reason. Makes me laugh every time I think of it. I think I need to put all that on the Curmudgeon thread!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Thanks all, as ever it is the waiting for tests and results that is a bit of a scunner. Keeping busy helps divert the mind and it is a busy time of year which some of you might have noticed
Curmudgeonly here as well, does anyone know when ‘Rent a Gob’ will be leaving the breakfast show on radio 2. Although, some of the girls can be as bad these days.

Glad you're keeping optimistic steephill. It's all you can do, and at least if there's anything there, it can hopefully be treated and sorted.
I presume you mean Chris Evans Lyn? He left yesterday. The bunting's out To be fair to him [season of goodwill ] he did a huge amount to raise money for all sorts of things, because he has a way of getting people to perform for him, and I respect him for that, but it's when he continually turned everything round to be about him that it put me off completely. The whole Top Gear thing was beyond ridiculous, but when he started promoting that Channel 4 prog that was resurrected, he was rightly given a roasting.

That’s good then, we can go back to radio in the mornings now. He just talks and talks, doesn’t shut up, talks over everybody else, very rude. Must be almost 10 years maybe 8 I’ve lost track. I ony ever listen to 8am news and he has to gabble until about 3 minutes past.
