    Oooh  BL ... lovely wreath.

Well folk ... all’s well that ends well, but yesterday was quite a day ......  :o

I left home just after 9am and went to the farmshop
on the way to Wonky’s and collected a smashing looking turkey, gammon, chipolatas, sausages, bacon and a pork pie and put them in the boot surrounded by frozen chiller blocks  ... so far so good ... then on to visit  Wonky and her Lovely Hub, swapped presents, admired their tree and drank coffee ... then on to visit son for his birthday ... I met up with him and a couple of friends at a café on the quayside ... he opened his presents and we sat in the sunshine drinking coffee and having good conversation ... the day was just fine ... then we discovered that the car boot wouldn’t open ... no matter what we did  :o ... there was no way into the boot by other means and at 3:30 on the Saturday before Christmas every garage we phoned was shut ... I was imagining our Christmas dinner remaining the boot to become rotten while we had to find something else to eat ... then my son remembered that a mechanic who has a workshop near son’s place did his training at a Renault garage ... we took the car there ... the chap is from a Traveller family and lives in a van on the site ... he was just locking up the compound to take his children Christmas shopping but he put his overalls back on and crawled around on the ground and found a way of circumventing the faulty electric switch and opened the boot and we rescued the turkey, chipolatas, sausages, bacon, gammon and pork pie.  His big Staffie thought Christmas had arrived early and was most disappointed to be told firmly to ‘Leave!’
He refused payment until I forced £20 in his hand to buy a little something extra for his children.
He’s ordering a new switch and if it arrives quickly will fit it before we go to MILs before New Year as we can’t use the boot until it’s fixed
    My Hero!!!
     <3
From then to brothers farm for a present swap, chinwag and mince pies before getting home for supper at 8:30
As I said ... all’s well that ends well ....

    Morning all.

Oh dear, Dove, you haven't had much luck with locks recently, how stressful that must have been.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Apparently it’s not an uncommon fault with Meganes ... caused by condensation.  :(

Glad you got into your boot eventually Dove - what a time for the lock to pack up 🙄.  As bad as if you were off on holiday and had a plane to catch 🙀

Great wreath Lizzie - I love the lichen too.

Yesterday was fun - London was busy, but very sparkly

Sad news from Indonesia again two tsunami's after the eruption of Anak Krakatau, a volcanic island in the Sunda Strait.

    Our
prayers, and sympathies to all I'm sure.

It's really dreadful, H.Hog. Puts it all in perspective when you see people acting like spoiled children when the shop's run out of milk/sprouts/crackers.  :(

Dove - I think you should just stay indoors for a while....
Glad you got it fixed  ;)
Lovely pic chicky. I'm happy to let you take the hit and be in town at this time of year  ;)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Staying indoors doesn't seem to work @Fairygirl

.. today one of the fridge shelves has broken ... OH was sorting out the contents, as you do two days before Christmas ... took out a shelf and the plastic flange just came off in his hand ... rolleyes I've ordered a new one from eSpares ... hopefully arriving tomorrow ... £50 shock meanwhile that corner of the shelf is propped up on a jar of Patek's Korma Paste ....

Morning all this Christmas Eve Eve.
    Lovley wreath @Busy-Lizzie.
@Pat E - so weird to hear your forecast when I’ll be glad if it’s just not freezing this week.
@Hostafan1 - work will surely be bonkers today!
@Dovefromabove - what a scenario! Were you contemplating smashing a window a one point? Glad all shopping retrieved. Typical re fridge! Oops!
@chicky - haven’t seen London at Christmas time for many years - manic but lovely.
Agree what an awful tragedy for Indonesia @Hampshire Hog and @Fairygirl - I hope damage is not too great.

I was just reading about the Banksy artwork in Port Talbot the other day, and thinking how sad that we need to barricade it to stop idiots ruining it and... yes somebody has had a go at breaking down the plastic screening already.

Have a a decent day all - no dramas, incidents or issues please...
My garden and I live in South Wales.
