Morning @Pat E, thanks for the kind words.
Re "Fairy's" roads. Torrential rain has caused landslides . From what I understand they have "nets" set into the hillside to catch falling debris and these seem to have contained it but they're now dangerously full so have to dealt with, hence road closure. The only diversion is 16miles long and flooding has caused problems there too.
I'm sure @Fairygirl will correct any errors, but I think that's what's going on.
I'm rather ashamed to admit , I've never been to Italy , but would love to. I'm glad you had a lovely time @Busy-Lizzie.

A total waste of tax payers' money. Why are we expected to pick up the bill for this nobody who doesn't even perform any " public duties"?

Hubby has just chased a herd of sheep out of our place. Not which neighbour they belong to.🤬

Wow Hosta. No wonder they aren’t happy about it. Sounds bad for all needing to drive there.

Good morning all  :) although not that good so far ... I put the bins out while the kettle was boiling and managed to dump a load of gloop from the food waste bin on the gravel ... had to shovel it up and sort it out in the drizzle. OH is going out with water and disinfectant to finish the job. Duh!  :/
Glad you had a lovely time @Busy-Lizzie ... don’t know Maggiore but I have lovely memories of a stopover at Bellagio on Lake Como B)
Hope the sheep didn’t damage anything @PatE

Morning Dove. No damage from the sheep, they were just laying comfortably on the slope in one of our paddocks enjoying the view as far as I could see.  We’ve worked out that they belong to the usual neighbour on the south side of our place. So annoying that we have to do it because he doesn’t.

Irritating about your garbage slip. 😬

Morning all/afties Pat. Did he not manage to nab one of the sheep for dinner?  ;)
Dry for the moment here - think everyone's getting some wet and windy stuff over the next few days though.
Pat - Hosta is mostly right - but the detour is nearer 60 miles, not 16. You have to go right round the eastern side of all those hills and come in from the north. I've sometimes put photos of that section of road on the camera thread when doing my hillwalk pix. You can see it from the smaller hill across the road. Military road is the lower one. Not sure how clearly you can see the netting arrangements.

At least we don't have hurricanes eh?
Glad you had a lovely time BL - we expect a load of gorgeous  photos  :)
Dove - it's always when we're in a hurry and it's wet that it happens!
Better shift - work beckons. Thursday already.... :o Have a good day everyone
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
