@Fran IOM, Our cats have very strong personalities ,..all of them were related to the cat below 'Plain',.. whose was the Mother of Whisper,..sadly all the others have passed away.
'Plain'
my patience with cuttings tends to be a sort of addiction,..for example today while doing a spell of gardening i brushed against a rose bush branch,..realised it could take my eye out were i to leave it like that,..i cut it off and dumped it in a bin,..i had only walked a few feet away when i thought to save it as a cutting,..filled a pot with a mix,..dipped it in rooting powder and so another cutting to watch,..it never stops.
@Valley Gardener, Well done getting the two remaining Hellebore,..you are lucky and planted very quickly as well,..you really went to town as the saying goes,..picking up two Clematis at Asda.
No rain today so i managed to get some gardening done,..dug up some Snapdragons and relocated them,..a quick job i thought,..then discovered there were eight,..finding a spot for them all was a chore.
I never intended having so many cats,..some were brought here from when i was living far out in the countryside and so had to be kept indoors for a spell before releasing them outside,..they remained close to the house for about a week before going on adventures,..alas only 'Whisper' remains today,..some from the past below.
The big Tom Cat,..he was wild but after three months of coaxing and feeding he became friendly,..then sired the kittens he is minding,..he and 'Plain' took turns minding the kittens.
@Fran IOM,..@Purplerain,..managed to drive the car three times this week,..started off with going for seed compost,..that was a must lol,..had tests on Monday and another tomorrow morning,..i am still not sure if i am getting used to the restricted vision or just returning to normal slowly.
Fran,.. you were wise not to do any gardening with that cold wind blowing,..its very hard to resist going into the garden when there is something to be done,..ah yes that Miracle Grow works wonders,..i bought a bag of seed compost last year and it had Miracle Grow in it,..i must look out for it again.
Purplerain,..what was the play?,..being fed and entertained at the same time,..one could get used to that lol,..i used to go to the Theatre very often when in Dublin and London,..its something i miss now,..oops about the labels on the Clematis being washed off,..i wrote in white plastic strips the names of mixed Lilies,..then discovered too late i didn't use a permanent marker,..everything washed away.
@nultyphilip224. The play I saw was "The Browning Version". It would take too long to explain it, but I was gripped throughout. I love the theatre like you, and am lucky to be in a local theatre going group where tickets are purchased for lots of plays and musicals.
I remember you put up a photo a while ago about the old Tom taking food from your hand. That was lovely. My two Toms are very woosy and soft as butter. I don't pick them up in case I infridge on their cat rights lol, but they are very loving when they want fed or stroked.
I am really pleased to hear you drove three times this week and I am keeping my fingers crossed for you with the eye problem. Will get the Cosmos and a few other annuals started today. Not long now till Spring.
@nultyphilip224 you have certainly had some handsome cats ! I am sorry if you've answered this question loads of times (l may even have already asked it ), but all your plants look so healthy. Do you feed them something specific according to variety, or just a general feed ?
@Purplerain How nice to have alternative activities when the weather is not good for the garden especially when you get entertained and fed into the bargain. I find Carol grows on you. I couldn't wait a year before planting out a clematis! (Maybe I'll learn). Bought one late last year and planted it out. It was so small but I am pleased to say it is showing signs of growing so hold out hopes for it. My Photinia Red Robin are all in the ground. The best one is outside the allotment on a small plot which is an area that gets neglected as I am inclined to forget about it. I think the smallest one I shall have to do something with but I am now having my doubts as to whether it is a Photinia. @nultyphilip224. There is nothing plain about "Plain". You can tell that Whisper is her daughter. Those photos are lovely. Tom Cat is a beauty and I've never known a male cat share looking after the young ones. Do you get nostalgic looking at them all? Even though I have never yet bothered with cuttings I always feel guilty after pruning and throwing the cuttings away. Do hope your rose cutting takes! Seems like things are improving with your eye problem especially if you are now able to drive. Hope it continues. @Valley Gardener. Do hope it won't be too long before you are able to drive again. How are your Hellebores getting on? What colours are they? Another day unsuitable for gardening. Rain first thing followed by a little sun and less wind so did think it could be possible until the rain came back with a vengeance. Maybe tomorrow...

@Purplerain,..ah yes ''The Browning Version'',..riveting play,..by 'Terence Rattigan',..its an oldie one in that it was written sometime in the 40's though not sure of the exact year,..they made a film of the play with Albert Finney,..i agree with you its a gripping play.
I was very lucky job wise when in London as i worked for a time for 'Michael Robert Hamilton Holmes a Court',.. the Australian Billionaire,..he owned some of the West End Theatres and when there wasn't a full house i would be given free tickets,..one of his Theatres was the London Palladium,..it was the one i frequented often as it was only about 200 yards from my flat,..living in the West End meant i had a good choice of plays and shows,..including 'Cats',..with Elaine Page,..'Phantom of The Opera',..'The Mousetrap',..which was on for years,..in Ireland it was 'The Abbey Theatre',..fantastic plays there as well.
Lol about you not picking up your two Toms in case you infringe on their cat rights,..i suppose to them being picked up and petted would be an embarrassment in front of female cats.
I know exactly how you feel not driving,..its so convenient to just drive someplace and pick up all your groceries,..or gardening material,.i hope you get back on the road soon.
