@nultyphilip224 Thanks for the tip! I'll see what he's got for me.

Good luck with your eye, I hope it improves soon.
@emerb,..thank you,..keep looking in to Gardenersworld.

  • @philip nulty,  Oh my goodness, that reminds me of our wall! I'm always piling on rocks, but I do love rocks! Are you actually having an eye op? Those drops are awful,it feels as if your eye is paralysed!
Foxy Molly is being helpful I see!
    Lovely pics too.
@Purplerain. I too didn't have a phone with camera, but my daughter said I must update my old Kindle, actually I remember you saying something too Philip....😊
I still can't get my head round the newfangled phone/computers!
I managed a bit of weeding today, then sat on the bench enjoying the sun with my cats!
Lol,..at another gardener being 'Stone Mad',..i always bring home at least one rock that i find on the islands when boating,..one as big as a Rugby Ball looks like Brain Coral,..another is as big as a Soccer Ball,..pure white Marble.

Oh no operation,..i just refused being sent from Optician to Specialist and then to another Specialist with nothing to be done for certain and all because it is The System i am told,..if i have something done now it will be what i want,..like corrective lens and Prisms if necessary from just one source,..so far one company stated they can do just that,..i will see them next week,..touch wood.

Oh do send any images you have,..as you can see i love pictures.

In bloom today is Erysimum cheri 'Blood Red'.

Everything in the garden is a tad early in its bloom or growth,..even my Hibiscus 'Woodbridge' is showing leaf and it is always the last to show sign of live but in Spring.

Love the photo of Whisper @nultyphilip224, he/she looks very happy up on the roof, and just look at that beautiful blue sky! I really hope this new specialist can get you sorted with the eye. You don't want to be walking around with your head at an angle for too long 🙂.

@Valley Gardener I do manage to photograph things using my ipad, but not a phone. I only use an old flip type pay as you go phone for text or calls. I think you do very well with technology, a lot better than me, that's for sure.

  • Ah,nice ending for the cat,one of the many things I disliked about Spain, not all Spanish.....Brits were returning all the time and abandoning their cats, and dogs.
What a fabulous red flower Philip! Love the pics of kitty on the roof, some cats are tree dwellers, and like to be as high as poss. My daughter has a Maine Coon, and he rarely comes down to the floor......even his food is served high up!!
Our glorious weather has gone, back to showers all day! But I have lots to do.....crafty bits for the church raffle,so lots of pebbles being painted, and mitts being knitted!!😊😊
Here is a pic of "Woo"

@nultyphilip224 Do hope you find a solution soon to your eye problem. You are obviously exploring every avenue. Had to laugh at your reason for buying another phone.  :)  We still have a landline so I use. that phone when I can't find my mobile.
I hope my "rose garden" turns out as interesting as it sounds. Will be a while yet to see the outcome but ever hopeful. A lot of my shrubs are from the pound shop and they were excellent. I shall have a look at the labels of my David Austin roses and see if they are genuine or not.
Yesterday's weather wasn't so good but it was sheltered in the allotment so managed to do some more weeding. Can't imagine any time when I would have to invent something to do as I am overwhelmed at what I still have to do!
I thought that Foxy Molly was an "only child" but Whisper is lovely and looks as though he or she is in charge. Obviously has an easy way of getting on to the roof.
What a good idea about posting photos on the forum via an email to you. Will look into that when Spring/Summer arrives and things are looking their best. Would give you some idea about the roofing tiles. All the edges of the flower beds are made from them. You must have a lot of colour in your garden already.
Not sure what today will bring with the weather. Has been raining but if it brightens up no doubt I shall be able to continue with the weeding.
@Purplerain  Like you I only have a phone for texts and calls. Can't believe how much time people spend on their phones. No matter where you go they are talking or looking through or taking photos of something in the shop to see if it's what the other person wants. It's just a way of life now.
@Valley Gardener  Like you I can't understand how people can leave cats behind. When we lived in Singapore we had our cat and dog put to sleep as we couldn't leave them to suffer with someone else. We though it the best thing to do. One of my favourite cats was left behind but managed to find me and travelled in the UK with us. Was at least nineteen when he died as he was fully grown and neutered when I took him on so didn't know how old he was then. I also had a stray here who was almost a Maine Coon with the long fur and very affectionate. Woo so lovely but looks really annoyed to have a photo taken.

Enjoy today all whatever you choose to do.

  • Hi all,i hope you've had a productive day!
I'm so thrilled to find a little Cream coloured Hellebore, with a very pale pink blush,in a little fruit and veg shop!! Only£2.75! I'm feeling like a right old cheapskate, just need a drier day tomorrow to plant it,will it want some bonemeal??I thought I'd locate it near the tree,so it will have shade next spring, how can a little flower bring such joy?? Pic to follow.......😁😁

Hi @Valley Gardener,  I know how you feel on finding your Hellebore! What a bargain. It sounds like the one I recently bought which cost me £8. I don't think you are a cheapskate just someone who knows a bargain when they see one. If you pass the shop often you will have to make sure you look at all their plants for sale. Hopefully tomorrow you will be able to plant it out. Mine is planted under the apple tree. I am sure Philip will be able to tell you if it will need some bonemeal. Look forward to your pic  :)

Really you had perfectly healthy pets put to sleep why didnt you bring them back with you????   Airpets, flypets, Petair, James Cargo, Animal Couriers.com etc etc
I been following the posts for a couple of months not posted anything yet but this made me seeth.  I am an avid gardener, have two allotments and dog lover have 2 Cairn Terriers and this just made me mad put to sleep what????? I would have bankrupted, beg, stole and borrowed to bring my dogs/cats back home with me. My second Cairn a 9 year old  Grey Black Bindle came from an 92 year old 4 years ago who couldn't look after him anymore and he certainly is not "suffering" he gets three walks a day, two good meals, companionship and love. Disposable animals not.

It's a pity that your first post is so judgemental. It is lovely that you have managed to take care of your pets and your allotments, but circumstances are not the same for everyone.

@dawnad As you are totally unaware of the circumstances I don't feel you have the right to criticise. I am talking about the sixties when things were quite different. You did not have the money then to enable you to take your pets back to the UK and if you had lived there you would understand that no way would you have left your beloved pets with locals. Animals to them were not pets. I would never have rested if I had not had them put to sleep not knowing how they were being treated. I am an animal lover and all the cats and dogs I have had over the years have come to me as strays or unwanted pets. I can assure you if it had been remotely possible to bring them back it would have been done. We gave them love for the time we had them plus they weren't quite like the domestic pets we have here. Find out the facts before you criticise as you made me seethe as well.
